Sage and Vine – CarlisleWe went for our 1 year wedding anniversary meal. What a great experience. Service was fantastic. Food was fantastic. Couldn't have been any better. Would highly recommend
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereHad a beautiful meal for my partners birthday, friendly staff lovely food!!
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleThis was the 2nd time we have eaten here so we knew we needed to book which we did. I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly and my partner had the steak again cooked perfectly, we shared a pudding which was delicious too. If we ever visit Grasmere again which I am sure we will we will most definitely eat here again. The atmosphere and staff are great. Well worth a visit.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe had a great meal and attentive service. Will definitely come again.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLove this place. We stay in Grasmere often and always book a table when we book the hotel. It’s no surprise the place was full The food is great and the service really what you think about in a little Bistro genuine and personal Keep doing what your doing
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFood was absolutely gorgeous really tasty excellent value for money and the service was amazing and the atmosphere warm and welcoming.would definitely recommend you pay a visit
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe were recommended Horse and Farrier by our host at Barton Hall, Pooley Bridge, in 2023. We were impressed by menu, food and atmosphere. For our 2025 trip, we made reservations well ahead of time for two dinners. No word of a lie, we overheard a number of other tables mention that they make a point of dining at H&F when they are in the district.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithExcellent as usual, food spot on, staff very friendly and excellent service.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsThe food was delicious & the staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning & have already recommended Lewis’s to family & friends.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereUnfortunately the meal was not very good, tasteless and really inedible. The pizza seemed undercooked and just too much cheese, the Carbonara had very little taste. We've been a few times but really not good this time.
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleAbsolutely fantastic evening including my dog with amazing service and food!
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithCancelled my booking (twice) and yet still received this feedback. I was staying very near to the restaurant which was rarely open & when it was it was devoid of customers. Sorry but I couldn’t face sitting in a bleak restaurant with hardly any diners.
Goody Blake’s – GrasmereFood was lovely, staff lovely, atmosphere lovely. And bonus the dogs where welcome too. Couldn't fault the pub. Everyone was so friendly and portions were very generous. It was nice to chat with family whilst we were on our holiday. I highly recommend this pub We will be back when we come back to the lakes.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsGreat, friendly service, good atmosphere. Catered for my Gluten Free dietary requirements no issues.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe were recommended the Wheatsheaf by friends and were glad we went. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was good pub food that had a bit more zing! We share are food, swapping plates halfway so we both get to taste the others choice. I ordered fish and chips as were near the sea - a good sized piece of fish, though the chips were a bit less generous, but all delicious with proper homemade tartare sauce to top it off. My husband had the salmon with oriental coleslaw. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the slaw was the zing that lifted it with flavour. Puddings were delicious - apple and blackberry crumble and chocolate brownie, both with vanilla ice cream. The staff oiled the wheels of a good spot by being friendly, attentive and helpful. All in all, I would recommend the Wheatsheaf as a place to go.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeVery nice atmosphere very good service and excellent food.
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleRecommended this place by a couple of people who had been before. On the whole a lovely experience, friendly staff. Very dog friendly and both mine and my husband’s pies were really tasty. However, I really do have to say one thing…. Please, please do not advertise “creamy mash” at an extra £2 to other potato options when it was only rustic mash with lumps and certainly not smooth creamy mash. Sorry guys but this really was the only thing that let the meal down.
