We found the food very tasty and all the staff were friendly and attentive. A lovely bistro which we will recommend to our family and friends and return to again on our next trip to Grasmere.

Very warm welcome and friendly service. Great pub food. We watched the football in bar and they had kindly allowed us to park our campervan overnight. Very good location for Pooley Bridge and Penrith. Thank you for your hospitality.

Both our meals were excellent, with service and atmosphere to match. They allowed us to adjust our booking and made room for us too. Everything was cooked well, and pie was packed. The gravy in particular was great. Also tried the house beer (Pheasant Ale) which was a good drink.

Very pleasant environment, with efficient and pleasant service. Wide range of dishes, including a good number of gluten free options. Visited twice during our stay and would recommend to anyone.

Had an excellent meal here. We thought we may be in for a treat when we entered having seen the amount of reserved tables and we were not disappointed. staff were pleasant and attentive and the food lovely and well cooked. My husband gave the prawn cocktail 10 out of 10! Will definitely return when in the area.

It didn't look much from the road / outside but was great. Busy pub, good atmosphere, friendly staff and most importantly the food was delicious. Portion size was good and food cooked very well. Only downside was no car park but there is on street parking. Would definitely recommend.

Birthday meal for 5. Booking was a doddle, service first rate and food delicious. Can’t really add more. Deffo be back when I return to the area next

This was our third visit and we haven’t been disappointed yet…..great value for money, Guinness for the husband, and the service is always faultless, welcoming and friendly. We’ve had the Sunday roast, fish & chips and steak & ale pie-all were delicious!

We visit you once a month. We love the atmosphere and the staff are great, but over the last few months we have found the menu rather disappointing.

Quality food and friendly service. As a vegetarian it’s sometimes difficult to find a good roast dinner but this is the best around by far! Great selection of different foods on the plate, generous portion sizes and extra gravy where needed.

Great service staff so friendly soo helpful had the steak pie absolutely beautiful, veg rather hard and the mash potato was cold they did offer to warm it but I had eaten half my meal so left it but I would still go back it's not put me off eaten hear a few times normally it's perfect
