Apart from the fact that entry down the stairs is in a proper state and looks like you are entering a crack den, the restraunt and food is very good.

We have eaten here 4 times in the last couple of weeks and each time the food and service has been excellent. Really good menu choices for both evening meals and Sunday lunch. The staff are always so welcoming and eager to assist. Fabulous selection of ales, lagers and also a brilliant wine list. It’s been really busy every time we’ve been with a great atmosphere in both the restaurant and bar. We would highly recommend it.

Three of us had a six-item tapas meal at Maritimo yesterday. Every item was delicious. Highly recommended.

We had an excellent time at The Hour Glass. We were made to feel very welcome and were looked after so well. The food was fantastic and service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back again. Thank you to the team for a wonderful evening.

Exceptional waiting staff and service

I usually visit with my 4½-year-old son and it’s always a lovely experience. The restaurant is very family-friendly and the staff are kind, helpful and welcoming, especially with children. The pizza is amazing every time — fresh, tasty and clearly made with care. A great local place we’re always happy to come back to.

Had a lovely family Sunday lunch here to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday. Food was excellent, with plenty of choice including carvery. Staff were very friendly and helpful and made for an really great experience. Would definitely recommend and we will be visiting again. Thank you

Exceptional Sunday roast, desserts in particular were amazing!

Amazing food it was delicious, nice atmosphere. Disappointed there was no kids pizza after it was shown on the menu , slow service but understandable on a Saturday night (we had offered to pre book as we were a big group)

Outstanding food as always at The Hour Glass. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, making it a lovely place to relax and enjoy a proper meal. Every dish was full of flavour and clearly prepared with care. The staff are A1 as always… peachy farmer rules! The only tiny note would be that the pork could have been slightly warmer, but honestly, that didn’t take away from what was a fantastic experience in every possible way. Highly recommended and already looking forward to the next visit.

Restaurant nice, clean, traditional. Our waitress was very hospitable, friendly, polite and helpful. Food was very nice, a very good menu with plenty of our favourites on. Would definitely go back and would recommend.
