Great food and service, superb value for money, nice atmosphere, would certainly recommend and visit again.

Last minute booking on a Monday evening, glad we booked because the restaurant was busy! We now know why… excellent team, the food was incredible & we will most definitely go back.

A very nice Italian restaurant, food and service especially good. We went at lunch time and we couldn't fault it. It was so nice we are planning to travel this way in October to have our celebratory anniversary meal there.

This is the 3rd time we've been out for Sunday carvery and absolutely love it :) Highly recommend

Thoroughly enjoyed our early evening meal at the Upper Deck. The food was delicious, beautifully prepared and cooked, and it was lovely to sit on the terrace overlooking the bay. My only criticism was with the chairs which were really hard and uncomfortable - I desperately needed a cushion! We will return but we will sit inside on the paddad seats.

Great Food and Service, hidden gem

The best fish pie!! Absolutely fantastic food and service . Such a great welcome and meal after a long walking day . The fish pie is worth travelling from afar for! Superb.

Our two evenings drinks and dinners have been wonderful ,we do not live local and stayed just opposite up chapel lane so only 3 minutes walk it's my wife's 80 th birthday last Saturday in it's part of her celebration and thank you all for looking after us , we will come back soon

The Hourglass is really delivering delightful food these days. The Rissotto was delicious and my duck was soft and beautifully cooked . It is a great place to meet friends, chat with locals and enjoy conversations with a varied mix of people. It really is an Exeter gem!

Myself and two friends had an excellent pre concert meal on Friday 3rd July 2026. It was a birthday treat for one of my friends so we took a cake into the restaurant which the chef presented on a plate with ‘Happy Birthday’ written on the edge of the plate in chocolate. Everyone was so kind and would highly recommend. We have been before and will definitely be back again soon. Thank you all.

Lovely setting on the terrace with stunning sea views. Tapas selections included many standard dishes but several more unusual choices plus daily specials. All tasted lovely & freshly cooked. Friendly service & helpful tips given for our ferry trip across to Brixham the following day. A great find !

Excellent meal & great service too. Our train was delayed so we were late but it was no issue and we were warmly welcomed regardless.
