Had an excellent meal on a Monday evening. Took advantage of their cocktail offers and the set priced pasta and pizza dishes. The restaurant was practically full and buzzing. The service was very good and could not fault the food- tasty , well cooked and presented. Can't wait to return!

The service was wonderful and the food was just as wonderful. The best garlic bread I have ever had! The Hour Glass Inn – ExeterWe didn’t know there was more than one dinning room so we were advised we would be downstairs. My husband uses a walking stick following spinal surgery so stairs are a problem. Luckily there is another entrance to the downstairs room which we were quickly shown so all resolved. Food was plentiful and extremely tasty, I particularly liked the Yorkshire pudding full of slow cooked brisket. We were so full after our lunch we weren’t able to to eat another course. We will definitely come again. Service excellent.

The food was delicious, 2 courses each. Can recommend the fish goujons and the mushroom ravioli, so tasty. There was a nice atmosphere whilst dining too. Thank you to everyone for making our visit so enjoyable.

The amount of choice for vegetables was amazing, we've never seen anything like it!!! Well presented and clean area. Gravy was delicious too. One of the best carveries we have ever had. Will be back!!
The Harbour Inn – SeatonI recently stopped into The Castle Inn on a Tuesday evening, hoping to grab a bite to eat, and I was genuinely blown away by the experience. From the moment I walked in, the team made me feel incredibly welcome. For a Tuesday night, the atmosphere was unbelievable — the pub was buzzing with energy thanks to the weekly quiz, and it created such a lively, enjoyable vibe. I ordered the ribs, which were exceptional — some of the best I’ve had anywhere. My friend joined me and went for the burger, and he couldn’t stop talking about how good it was, describing it as “out of this world.” The Castle Inn turned what was meant to be a quick stop into a standout evening, and I’m already looking forward to my next trip to North Devon. This pub will absolutely be my first destination when I return.

Giles rang me on the Friday to explain that they would only be serving small plates and sides and gave me the opportunity to cancel in case we had wanted main meals. Decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. Cracking food, brilliant service and we all said we’d return. A really great find and we’ll be recommending to local friends. Thank you!
