The Hour Glass Inn – ExeterWe had the most wonderful experience at The Hourglass Pub on the evening of our wedding, Wednesday 4th March. There were 16 of us celebrating together, and the entire evening was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The staff were incredible — warm, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping us celebrate such a special day. The service was flawless all evening. Even with a group of 16, everything ran smoothly and we felt completely looked after. The food was phenomenal. Every dish that came out was beautifully prepared and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone at the table. It really added something special to our wedding evening. We had reserved a private room (which we paid a deposit for), and having that space to ourselves made the night feel even more personal and relaxed. The team were also wonderfully accommodating — when we ran a quiz for our guests, they kindly provided extra lights so everyone could see properly, which was such a thoughtful touch and really appreciated. Nothing felt like too much trouble for them, and their attention to detail helped make the evening feel truly memorable. Thank you to everyone at The Hourglass for helping make our wedding evening so special. We’ll always remember it and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food, fantastic service, and a welcoming atmosphere.
The Hour Glass Inn – ExeterExcellent food and service, a late Birthday treat but worth waiting for. Will definitely be back again.
Belluno Italian Axminster – AxminsterSecond time we have been here to eat both times its been fabulous We had a selection of 10 dishes between two of us ,which was a little bit to much but we really wanted to try everything on the menu. We loved every dish and were completely stuffed I do agree about the steps down being rather off putting and my husband wasn't impressed with the toilet but we will still return when.we return to Plymouth. Last time we went it was lunchtime and the views are fantastic.
Maritimo Wine & Tapas – PlymouthWe, the family and I, were very impressed with Maritimo Wine & Tapas. Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent food, good service and a pleasant atmosphere. Will certainly eat here again.
Maritimo Wine & Tapas – PlymouthA very poor experience. They are using an online booking system but don’t know how to use it properly. We arrived for our booking and were rudely told we hadn’t booked enough in advance and they didn’t have a table for us and sent us away. What’s worse is that the then asked us to write them a review. If you screw thing up it’s best to be really apologetic and take responsibility rather than blaming the customer.
The Hour Glass Inn – ExeterAbsolutely superb lunch and reasonably priced with perfect service- highly recommend with stunning views and will be back very soon
The Swan Inn – PlymouthHad a lovely meal here this week. Great food, really friendly staff and a lively pub but with a quiet restaurant- perfect place. Its like a tardis inside!
The Poltimore Inn – South Molton10/10 food drinks and service - high quality and very impressive food, not just ‘pub grub’. We had the sharer pie for two, it was huge you could probably share between three. The starters were amazing and the staff were lovely and really attentive. Definitely a great place to go with friends.
The Hour Glass Inn – ExeterExcellent Sunday roast. Dog friendly. Lovely atmosphere.
The Hour Glass Inn – ExeterGreat Sunday roast, the service was very attentive, made to feel very welcome
The Hour Glass Inn – ExeterWe were a group of four adults and our table was inside, on the lower level. Our waiter was Benny and he was perfect. Our food arrived piping hot, even though it had to be carried down three flights of steps. I have sympathy for the staff as this is quite a job! My sea bass fillets were delicious and so we're my chips. I was glad to find several items on the menu that weren't too spicy. My friend had the chorizo that was fiery hot with chilli. He likes fiery food but that was a level above what he expected so perhaps a bit too much. But we did enjoy our meal. The only thing I could criticise was how cold our dining room was as there was no heat and it was 11 degrees celcius draft blowing downstairs into the room. It was much warmer in the upper dining room.
Maritimo Wine & Tapas – PlymouthLovely food - really super delicious! Service was a little slow and we were brought a dessert menu instead of the main menu when we arrive but it was a busy Sunday and we were not in a rush so did not mind.
The Hour Glass Inn – ExeterWonderful as always such a lovely place to go for delicious meals and amazing cocktails paired with a lovely atmosphere. Brilliant staff polite and efficient! I would recommend highly.
