I had an overnight stay with my friends for my birthday and ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The food was superb, the attention to detail for presentation was first class and nothing but truly delicious. My friend wanted a different type of potato with her meal but that was not possible. I do have to comment on the staff as they were friendly, accommodating , so pleasant and the best set of hotel staff I have ever come across.

Popped in for a meal and a few drinks as havent been for a while. Good value for money as wife had the half portion of haddock and chips an i had a burger with chips. The chips are good as homemade so rather large. Friendly staff and reasonable drink prices. We will be back at some point.

Great service, great food

We visited yesterday with family for Sunday lunch. Staff were super helpful and friendly. The chicken was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. So tender and juicy with crispy skin. The Yorkshire puddings really nice too. However I would have like to have had more veg and a lot more mash. There’s was only about a table spoon if that of mash and a couple of carrots. The only thing that let the food down other than the small portion were the roast potatoes which tasted like they’d been cooked and then reheated. They also forgot to put the stuffing and extra gravy on, but other than that the food was really nice. Desert we were charged £6.95 for a single scoop of ice cream for one of the kids. The brownie looks nothing like pictures on social media. It was half a cm thick and just slightly bigger than bite sized. We did not get the deal as if we had for £20 wouldn’t have had issues as you’re never going to get what you pay full price in the deals. We paid full price for everything as didn’t want starters so abit disappointing. I’d like to try the weekday menu as I did really enjoy the Sunday lunch but would avoid getting deserts as the tiny portion isn’t worth £7.

Excellent food, superb value and amazing service. Can’t find any fault whatsoever. Lewis in particular needs a mention. Excellent service throughout, and interaction with our young daughter.

Great restaurant that serves quality affordable food. Definitely recommend the parmo, really tasty and filling. Great range of gluten free options which is brilliant for my wife as we normally struggle to find 1 maybe 2 choices in other restaurants.

Excellent food, if a little “mean” on the starter. The duck main course was one of the best I’ve tasted. The atmosphere was a bit “flat”. Service was good. Rather on the expensive side for what was offered.

Second time visiting both times wait time unacceptable, waited 1.5hrs for our main course! The waiting staff are lovely and the food was hot and nice when it arrived but the long wait means we unfortunately won’t return. I have been to bigger, busier restaurants and never experienced such a long wait.

Absolutely beautiful. Has too be the best Italian restaurant in Durham City. Cannot fault the food or service. Highly recommend.

Easy online booking process. Food was very tasty, well presented and value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely evening with friends.

We selected Pergo restaurant for our daughter’s 16th birthday and it proved to be a fantastic decision. Staff catered to our large parties needs very well and the food was fantastic and good value on the 3 courses for £19.99, with a free bottle of wine for each pair dining. Thank you very much for making this family event a success.

A lovely rustic setting, friendly, helpful staff. I chose scampi and my husband had a beef dinner. We both opted for sticky toffee pudding for dessert. We enjoyed our food and will return in the future.

My husband and I had a fantastic evening meal at Gilroy’s Restaurant at the Morritt Hotel. The dining room was really welcoming. The tables are well spaced out. The food was excellent. The staff were very attentive. Unfortunately the rosé wine we wanted wasn’t available so we chose a white wine instead. When it was served it wasn’t chilled but they chilled it quickly and was delicious.

Came out for my birthday, food was fantastic and service was amazing. Very friendly atmosphere and clean environment and wonderful value for money and potions was great for the 3 course meal, not too much so that there's no waste. Overall fantastic with great food, I will be back to try something else maybe

Attended for Sunday dinner yesterday can’t fault pricing however all 5 of us felt it was very very peppery! Esp the suede! We’ve had no bother before but this time it was very overpowering. We were all famished so we did eat most of it and can’t fault desserts! But maybe less pepper next time! The only other thing I would suggest would be better lighting during the day - was quite dingey where we were placed even though daytime not a lot of natural light. Ofcourse we will go back as never had bother before just unfortunate yesterday. Otherwise lovely service lovely meals

Gussto is one of mine and my partners favourite restaurants, we’ve been countless times and the food is beautiful everytime, all great tasting well presented. Lovely decor inside always feels like a mini holiday. Hector the Waiter is always really friendly and helpful if you’re struggling to choose what to have. Having cruz campo on tap is always a bonus! Love anything from here with alioli
