The Farmers Arms – DurhamSlow service. We had to repeatedly ask for more drinks as whilst waiting for meal. I understand at the bottom of the menu it says you take 1-2 hours as prepped fresh but unfortunately the meals we received were not made with love….3 for £10? More like £33 if you want a full meal…. We were very disappointed with this. We had a friend visiting from Bristol and bigged this Venue up as previous visits were lovely. It wasn’t just us complaining that day we say other tables. It wasn’t busy so I can’t even take that in to count….
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWe both had a 3 course meal it was a lovely meal thoughly enjoyed it food was good staff were brilliant just a nice waiting time between each course keep up the good work
The Farmers Arms – DurhamCame here for the first time on the 27/03/2024. The food and everything was absolutely amazing! Will be back without a doubt
The Farmers Arms – DurhamFood was amazing, staff were lovely, really lovely place, defo recommend and will be back
The Farmers Arms – DurhamVery enjoyable afternoon tea. Good selection of savoury & sweet options. Only criticism is that tea was rather weak. Staff very friendly & attentive.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleWent for afternoon tea and when booked asked for no cheese but apparently this request hadn’t been passed on to the restaurant but they did offer to give me another sausage roll The Scones were lovely and warm and tasted delicious with the jam and cream Cakes were very nice as were the sandwiches Only complaint I would have is that we had to ask for a teaspoon as there wasn’t one that came with the drinks Also disappointed with the wait fir the food as drinks and jam and cream brought out within 5 minutes but had to wait 15 minutes for rest Wouldn't have minded but a party of 3 came in well after us and got their afternoon tea before us and finished well before us as well. If the place had been busy I could understand but there was only the 5 of us there including the other party of 3 Would definitely return but would hope for quicker service for food The staff were very pleasant
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleOne of the nicest afternoon teas that I have had. The staff were very attentive and friendly. A nice comfortable atmosphere. Would definitely go back again.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonWe had an evening meal booked in Gilroys restaurant and had a lovely time. The restaurant itself is relaxing and stylish with plenty of room between tables so you don’t feel on top of anyone else. My husband and I both had feather blade of beef which was beautiful. It was so tender it fell apart and the gravy was delicious. We followed up with a cheeseboard and a coconut panna cotta both of which were lovely.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleMeal was very nice but when deal said 3 courses for ten pound that's what people would expect to pay not all the add ons for different things. On the plus side the sticky toffee pudding was beautiful even tho you had to pay extra for either custard cream or ice cream. Very nice tho
The Farmers Arms – DurhamCream tea not nice , scones hard as rocks , sandwich fillers very cold just out of fridge cakes very poor not recommended
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleRequested an intimate table for a date if possible during online booking, and when we arrived, we had the whole top floor to ourselves, the table was decorated with napkins folded into hearts, a personalised message was there wishing us the best for our date and future from the whole staff, and the music felt like it had been hand picked just for us. The extra mile the staff went to in making this date special for us was incredible. Katy, our waitress, is an asset to the restaurant, she made it for us, she is the most bubbly, happy, positive person we've met in a long time, she really did go the extra mile in making our evening special, she took notice, was patient, attentive without being overbearing, and absolute delight to have serving us. The food was out of this world, absolutely beautiful. Above and beyond does not do justice to this restaurant or it's staff. The memory of this date will stay with us throughout our relationship.
Pesto Italiano – DurhamFantastic food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. The scotch egg was amazing!
The Farmers Arms – DurhamGreat food, parmos some of the best in the area, service tho is slow at times but always polite and helpful. Love the happy hour menu
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamHad a lovely day, staff were so friendly , food was fab and spa was amazing. Would definitely return and hopefully soon
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonAfternoon tea was delicious, servce was excellent will definitely be going back
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonWent for a lovely family meal here and I couldn’t fault it one bit, the staff are super friendly making the atmosphere very welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious and the service was superb. Would highly recommend this to everyone!!
The Farmers Arms – DurhamFantastic value for money, even with add ons! I went with my fiance for a date night and it came to roughly £30 for 3 courses, a drink each and extras. Good portion sizes too and each course was delicious. Great atmosphere and loved the decor. Only thing I could really say is the service was a little slow, which is understandable. It was really busy when we went and there was a big table next to us that were constantly holding the attention of the wait staff. Would definitey go again, highly recommend.
