Enjoyed our stay at Derwent Manor. Friendly staff in the hotel, spa and Prego. Bar staff in Antler bar would benefit from staff training on how to communicate with customers. Food in Prego very nicely presented, almost 10 out of 10 apart from the chicken in the mushroom and chicken linguini, which was chewy; did ask for this feedback to be passed onto the chef but no apology was received. Breakfast adequate the next morning; fresh orange juice and a cafetière of coffee would have been better. Nevertheless for what we paid it was very good and we’ll probably return.

Absolutely beautiful food . Couldn't fault it. Maybe a bit more choice especwith starters would be good. The service especially for drinks let's it down badly.

Visited the Farmers Arms on Saturday 24th September, over the last 5 years we have been there many times but unfortunately the service we received on this occasion was appalling. We were booked in at 6pm, when our main course still hadn't at 8pm we made a complaint and were given the excuse they were short of staff. They then presented us with the bar bill and said the food wouldn't be charged for but I'm guessing they did that because they had heard us discussing whether or not to just up and leave. After another wait of 10 minutes the party at the adjoining table who had also complained were brought their main courses and we were told it would be another 5-10 minutes before ours would be ready. By this time it was 8.30pm so we decided to pay the bar bill and leave. The only apology given was fleeting and the excuse that they were short of staff was repeated and emphasised several times. The management must have known how many people were booked in so should have made proper provision to cater for that number or turn reservations away if they knew the staff shortage was going to be a problem. Can only review the starter as that was the only food we did receive and that wasn't brought to the table until a full 75 minutes after booking in - it was OK but the portions very small. I'm afraid we won't be booking in there again.

All the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. The room was great and very spacious The food was splendid ,delicious and plentiful. Looking forward to a return stay.

Had a lovely evening meal. All 4 starters and main meals were well cooked with lovely presentation and taste.

We made a visit for Sunday Lunch, was perfection, hot, plentiful, Beef lean and tender, husband got Pork with apple gravy and enjoyed bit very much. Desserts were great, nothing fussy , good old choc pudding, or waffle and ice cream and classic Black Forest gateaux. What more can you ask for. Very friendly too and nice pub quite large. Took time to care for me with not being able to walk so good.

Great food, well cooked and a good price. Service was excellent and a jolly waitress.

We stayed here for 2 nights the food was exceptional, beautifully cooked tender steak,succulent chicken ,lovely desserts and starters.

the food was great and we rally enjoyed it. fabulous value for money the wine was the same. however the room we stayed in was a disaste.r would eat again there no problem but stay probably not.

Love coming here. The food is gorgeous every time. Currently working through the menu. The garlic sauce is absolutely divine. Lovely staff, very attentive and polite. Would wholly recommend to anyone who likes good food at great value prices.

We had booked a table online but when we arrived there was no evidence of our booking. After a short wait at the bar we were taken to a table. So no issue really may just be an issue with the booking system that needs looking at. Restaurant was busy but orders taken swiftly and starters and drinks arrived in good time. A little wait for main meals but we were enjoying our drinks and the place was packed so it was understandable and not an issue. Staff were really efficient and friendly and food was really good! Tagliatelle pasta tasted really fresh with the Picante sauce.

My husband & I enjoyed our recent stay at the Derwent Manor Hotel on a dinner, bed & breakfast deal. The food for the evening 3 course meal & the breakfast was very good & the staff were very attentive.

It was just ok really. The food was ok but service was very slow, even though it didn’t appear busy in the restaurant. The drinks order was wrong and took a while to correct and then we waited such a long time for 2 ice creams that we ended up cancelling as it was getting so late. The restaurant looks very dated. The staff were polite and tried to be helpful.
