Yesterday’s was my first visit to the Griffin’s Head and it was delightful. The food was amazing. The deep-fried black pudding and mustard was exquisite …. Three thin slices of black pudding in a lovely light batter. Fantastic flavour! As a main course, I tried the cheese n onion pie, having read in the reviews how good it was. It certainly lived up to expectations. Homemade and extremely tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially as the friend I was with was in a wheelchair and we needed a bit of help. As for value for money ….. it was incredibly sensibly priced. A very welcome part of the experience!

Visited on 13th August and provided with excellent service and a good ambience the only misgiving was the black pudding with scallops. The meal was perfect apart from the black pudding which was overcooked (one crispy) and could not enjoy the taste expected. Peter Gray

Excellent Thai green curry and chocolate tort with drinks for £60 pair great value well done .

Food was good especially the cauliflower starter. Pizza relatively small which was fine for our 3 course menu. Front of house manager was brusque bordering on rude which spoilt the atmosphere a bit for us.

Checked the menu on line before booking and was quite looking forward to gammon and chips or fish and chips. Booked on line and on arrival were given menus titled pasta Tuesday, with no other options. Two of our party had the mussels on a bed of spaghetti, the mussels which were tiny were all shell with very little contents. I had a pasta dish with was supposed to have salami in it, very little salami and pretty bland. We did have chips as an addition which were very good, but overall a very disappointing experience

We stayed here for the night so decided to eat here, Jamie was lovely so were all the staff. He rang as they had been very busy so wanted to ensure they had what we wanted to eat. I had gluten free meatballs in a spicy sauce, they were lovely and the sauce had a little kick. Hubby had the roast beef, plenty of meat and veg, the yorkshire pudding was large. We both had started chowder soup and the ham terrine both of which tasted delicious. We also had the cooked breakfast arrived hot to the table and was very nice. We would stay and eat here again.

Brought my auntie yesterday 11/8/26 for her birthday lunch and we had a lovely meal. We opted for 2 small plates each and it was delicious. We had hot honey, peach, halloumi and Serrano ham salad and tacos which were so tasty. Would definitely recommend.

The Food at the Dog Inn is always fresh and cooked to order. Always plentiful and the staff are super friendly. I have never had a bad meal here and the meals are very reasonably priced. Long may it last! Thanks

Lovely meal, great staff and service

This was our first visit to Riley's and we weren't disappointed . I loved the atmosphere of the place and the decor was excellent.. To start I had a pint of Hawkstone Black ( Stout ) which was delicious and my wife had the Provence Rose what ch she really enjoyed. The menu is limited but we knew that before we went. We had the chicken tenders between us for starters and then we both had a pizza each. The food was fabulous , really good quality. Finally a mention for the two blokes behind the bar who were both very welcoming and engaging. We will definitely be back .

Had a fantastic meal for 4, wasn’t at all rushed, all staff were super polite and attentive especially Any who was our server, she was humerus and made us feel valued, food was delicious and literally couldn’t fault it Good value for money and will defo return
