The Traders Arms – BlackburnLunch for a Xmas party with my friends. Food is fabulous, highly recommend it. Service can’t fault it and staff are lovely, thank you.
A’Vucciria – RawtenstallWe had lunch here last week, the service was good, the food was nice and fairly priced. They also prepared some food for me to take to the hospital as I was visiting my friend. The only issue was my bill, apparently they had a system error on the day we went, it was only when I’d got home did I realise, I’d been overcharged, I emailed them and the overcharge was refunded,
Papa Luigis – ChorleyBest fish & chips in the area. Lovely setting, great service - we'll be back.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallWe had a lovely lunch, the staff were lovely, we will be back!!
Griffins Head Bar and Grill – AccringtonWe went for an early before attending a nearby event. The place felt very homely with logs burning in the fireplace. The service was second to none. The food arrive swiftly. All the dishes were delicious. We couldn't fault anything.
The Traders Arms – BlackburnPerfect experience once again. Lovely staff, great food, appealing atmosphere.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallFood is delicious as always and love the decor and atmosphere. Only thing that will put me off going again is that the wooden chairs are so uncomfortable. I used to come with my friend nearly every week and we'd spend a couple of hours chatting, whilst eating and drinking. However, I got seated in a wooden chair recently and it was unbearably painful as the back bar goes right across the middle of your back so you can't sit back and relax. Even though the food was incredible and I wanted to stay longer, I couldn't just because of the chair. I also noticed a young woman on the table next to me, move from her wooden chair onto the booth seating after less than 5mins as she said it was so uncomfortable, so it's not just me. Real shame
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallOur third visit and we always have great food and service. The menu is extensive and caters for different people.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallWe got here at last of promising ourselves a visit for at least a couple of years. It was a quiet night, I suppose it was early at the Vue cinema had cancelled our film show. That being said the service we enjoyed was top notch and very attentive but not intrusive ( a lot of other restaurants could learn from these guys). We had the usualpompadoma and chutneys, which were fair but a bit light on flavourful. We had no idea what the intense red stuff was but it was nice. The onion bhajis were excellent and light but full of flavor especially with a little of the chutneys on them. My main course was a chicken Dopiaza with peshwari Naan. The dish was very mild, surpringly so but very flavorsome with a lovely strong onion flavor, so bang on. The peshwari Naan was a bit disappointing, light on flavor and no fruit in it, which is the way I like it. Also, it was a little too oily and slightly underdone, making it difficult to pick up the dopiaza. Overall, it was enjoyable but could be better. My partner had a hot lamb dish, the name of which escapes me. It was very tasty but far too hot for both our palats. A side dish of yogurt would have been useful. After the meal the writer advised us the have the lamb on the bone dish next time we come back which we will do. Overall, a very nice experience in a very nice environment. Enjoy and merry Christmas.
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterExcellent food and service every time.
Quattro’s – OrmskirkWe regularly visit here and the service-atmosphere and food is always great. So much so that my friend and I booked for 16 Dec over a month or more ago, knowing it would get busy because of the time of year. I had no communication prior to this, so was rather surprised to be told on being seated that the table had to be vacated by 1.15pm ( we booked for 12pm) not a lot of time when you want a catch up with a friend, but we reluctantly agreed. The waitress was exceptionally busy so didn't take our order until 12.30pm and reiterated again that the table was only till 1.15pm.I intended to order a meal but was feeling pressurised/rushed so just ordered soup and a sandwich instead. We were then told again that we had to vacate at 1.15pm on bringing our drinks and again when the food arrived and again when ordering coffee. I appreciate that at this time of year that tables are booked out back to back, with it being Christmas. However we felt 1) the limited time to eat should have been mentioned when we booked, weeks ago, giving us the option to eat elsewhere if we wanted a leisurely lunch.2) That we really didn't need reminding 5 times that there were time restrictions on us. 3) We had no option but to order differently than we'd have done if we hadn't had those limits. Sadly, Bread n Butter this time youve left us disappointed at the Christmas lunch we thought we were going to have v the rushed lunch we received .
