Brooks – IlkleyBooked for breakfast for six people. The drinks and food arrived promptly. We all had a different dish and thoroughly enjoyed them. The young lad serving us was friendly and pleasant. We have been a few times now and the staff have always been brilliant. Gorgeous food, reasonably priced in a beautiful setting. Cannot beat it. We will be back again soon.

El Toro Hull – HullFood was great, the meat was so tender. Loved nearly everything,on my plate. We couldn’t get carrots without anise but were given extra green veg. Not a massive fan of raisins in the red cabbage. Everyone has different tastes.. but overall delicious Sunday Roast. Waiting staff were great too! I’ll definitely be back!

As soon as we took our last mouthful the staff were there to take the plate, there was no break in between and then staff hovering until we left the table. Felt very rushed, shame we could not enjoy the meal at our leisure

Roots Rum Shack and Kitchen – HullThe food was lovely. The service left a lot to be desired. Ordered drinks which took ages to come. Asked for a table inside and we were seated outside. Very cold and we kept our coats on. Took ages for someone to come for our order and they said it was because they were busy inside. We booked a table well in advance and felt we got second class service compared to those warm inside. Starters arrived and weren’t right so 2 went cold whilst waiting for the other 3. Waiter said it was because he had given us another tables starters and the others weren’t cooked. He misread this table number. We watched as food was delivered to another 2 tables which was meant for other people. Ordered a Bacardi and coke. It arrived and the waiter said vodka and coke. I corrected him and said I had ordered Bacardi and he said that’s right, that’s what it is. It was actually vodka! Not sure I would return in a rush. Wonder if they were short staffed but I think the staff should be able to get the food to the right table.

The Kings Arms – RichmondA fab night out at El Toro. All you can eat menu was really good. We especially loved the calamari in the rich sauce with loads of garlic. Absolutely delicious. We enjoyed everything we had. The prawns in garlic and chilli were delicious would have liked a bit more chilli. Both calamari dishes were very good. Chicken wings, ribs, belly pork all were delicious. If we’re ever in Hull again we wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Staff really nice as well
