Absolutely delicious Sunday dinner. Highly recommended!
The Bull – ShrewsburyLovely meal and lovely service.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordAs always, our recent meal at The Raven was excellent. This time we took guests who were gluten free, dairy free and couldn't have garlic or onions and despite this they found plenty of choice and were accommodated with tasty food. The manager Kerry is friendly and efficient and makes every trip special for us, as well as for our dogs who always are given biscuits and fuss by the staff and love to visit! We eat here every couple of weeks and never run out of tasty things to try on the menu, and are never disappointed.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyThe food was amazing and reasonably priced. We didn’t have to wait for long the food to arrive, service was amazing. Definitely recommend
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordExcellent food and service in a loverly location
Water Rat – IronbridgeVery pleasant service, very tasty food. 5*
The Bull – ShrewsburyWent last night meal was lovely. Just abit of advice though if you are going to do bottomless brunch in the bar area I wouldn't book table's out until that has finished. Eating my meal to banging music and girls slut dropping outside isn't the best. It didn't really bother me or the missis as we are easy going but you could tell it was effecting other diners.
The Malthouse – TelfordRather disappointed with the Valentine's Day menu and not much effort was made to create a romantic atmosphere for Valentine's Day. Food was okay, but nothing special.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordAmazing meal ! The food was perfect and the the hosts are very helpful and respectful.
Water Rat – IronbridgeMe and my boyfriend visited the bull for the first time for our valentines meal. The restaurant was decorated beautifully with candles, rose petals and roses on the table. The staff were friendly, attentive and well presented within themselves. The manager Ryan; he was fantastic; he knew exactly what he was doing and he ran his team well. The food was delicious and very well presented; we didn’t have to wait too long for our food either and the staff made sure we had drinks during our wait between courses. All in all a fantastic experience; lovely place, lovely food and exceptional staff. We will definitely be returning!
The Bull – ShrewsburyWe booked the early bird option for a party of five adults. The choice of meals was more than ample for our taste. The service to take our order was prompt, professional and friendly. We all opted for the starter and main option. Extremely happy with our choices and proportion size. When our main meals arrived we couldn’t wait to tuck in. The food was absolutely delicious. No complaints whatsoever very good value for money and we will definitely be returning. Well done chef.
Water Rat – IronbridgeVisited in February 2023 and all four in the party (with different dietary requirements) had excellent meals. The Service was also fantastic and we would highly recommend the The Bull to all.
The Bull – ShrewsburySunday lunch was absolutely delicious, the roast beef with Yorkshire pudding came with five different vegetables and roast potatoes (great value for money). Lovely location and welcoming.
Water Rat – IronbridgeThe food was excellent, not large portions for the price , although not piping hot . The venue was quite cold and sparse, no real atmosphere. Chairs were not very comfortable . Waitresses were not very attentive
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordIt’s really beautiful inside and out, but unfortunately that’s where it ends for us. The chef was a nice man from what we saw and heard, but didn’t get to try his food! We were seated and asked if we wanted a drink before we’d even sat down, which would normally not be an issue. But after getting us all drinks they decide to tell us what’s actually available! Loads have things had been sold out eg. No burgers, seabass, beef etc. Unfortunately that was the reason we’d came so decided just to have nachos and leave. There were 2 younger members of staff, and I found them both rude. One was listening to our conversation the whole time and actually decided to give us her input.. they were walking in and out the kitchen swearing at each other and everyone is the restaurant could here. It didn’t feel very professional of them to be walking around and moaning about other staff members whilst serving customers. There was also no music on, which is personal preference but it was quite awkwardly quiet and we could hear all the staff/chef conversations about previous jobs and personal chats. It also felt like the ladies were staring at us a lot, taking about wanting to close early. I understand the chef wanting to shut the kitchen, it would be quite embarrassing not being able to serve the meals you wanted to. So I have no issues with that, he sounded like a nice chap. I would like to visit again, as we’ve been told the food is amazing.. but hopefully we have a better evening.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordGreat Sunday roast, really enjoyed it. Good service and value.
Water Rat – IronbridgeWe (myself and partner) were running 15 minutes behind for Sunday lunch and so called ahead to inform. The voice on the end of the phone was short, abrupt and seemed totally uninterested. On arrival, we went to the bar area and met the young man behind the phone voice. We opted to sit outside as it was too overcrowded inside for our liking. "Good, that's better for us actually", he said. I came in to order food and asked if the large roast came with a Yorkshire pudding. "I don't know", he said. "Well perhaps you could find out for me if you don't mind?!", I said in reply. "I tell you what, I'll just add one on for you", he said before presenting the card machine to me having charged for the additional item. I was angered by his lack of common decency and subsequently changed the order however I was of the mind to tell him where to stick the reservation. He was totally unprofessional and in that particular front of house role, totally and utterly unemployable. The food was ok and the price reasonable. The service was beyond appalling. We do not intend to visit again and I shall be detering people from visiting in the future.
