The Tilley Raven – Shrewsbury5 of us went Friday early at 6.30pm and must say the portions where great we all had a starter and pudding. 2 had superman grills 2 vegetarian meals ans one had steak and ale pie. All meals were lovely. Puddings where great. Staff where friendly and wasn't long waiting for food. There was a singer who came about 30 mins before we left he was really good and great to listen to.
The Bull – ShrewsburyThree of us dined at The WaterRat at lunchtime on Tuesday23rd August. Everything was spot on ; welcoming and attentive staff, delicious food, and lovely setting. We thought the prices too were reasonable. Altogether, we were very pleased and will definitely be booking a meal there again.
Water Rat – IronbridgeBest steaks I have found in Shropshire, food was of a high standard, service was good and prices to suite the food. The whole place was great and staff very friendly and helpful
The Malthouse – TelfordWe arrived early for our meal but this was no bother for the staff and we were seated straight away and drinks orders were taken. Both main and pudding came out very quickly. Lovely meal and would definitely go again.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordWe had booked a table for Sunday but as we had family visiting early we decided to try here on the Saturday evening. Only 2 of us dined as others had eaten before arriving. I opted for the Texas Brisket as it stated it came with thick cut bloomer. When it arrived I can only describe it as an Asda Smart Price thin slice loaf and only 1 slice. When I questioned about it there was no apology or explanation. On the Sunday we came in early for a drink and looked over the Sunday lunch menu. We were really looking forward to a Sunday Roast. Our table wasn’t till later in the afternoon so we went for a walk round Ironbridge and returned later. Once seated the menus were bought over and we asked for the Sunday lunch menu only to be grunted at by the waitress we’ve stopped serving. We decided not to stay as we had eaten here the night before and didn’t want the same menu so we left. Waitress said fine when we explained why we were leaving and walked off. As we left all the other staff were sat round the bar area on their mobile phones so didn’t appear to be bothered. Unfortunately we won’t be returning as the attitude and standard of food on the Saturday wasn’t up to much especially when they advertise something that you don’t get
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordWe booked for Saturday 6th at 7.15pm. This was our first visit and we'll definitely be coming vack. The welcome, food and service were excellent. Our son' s special dietary needs were met without any problems whatsoever.
The Butchers Kitchen – TelfordWe went for a meal sat night at 6 and the restaurant was reasonably quiet Ordered drinks and had to wait along time for them to come Apologised and gave them us on house but then had to wait ages for starters and even longer 1hour 20 min for a main course what was pretty disappointing Both had pie mash and seasonal veg and onion gravy which on the menu was made out to be something amazing but really turned out not much better than cafe food Not a whole pie but a slice seasonal veg was only cut up sweet potatoes and the onion gravy was like water with a few onions floating in it Overall felt very let down by both food and service
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe regularly go in for a Saturday afternoon drink as we love the pub. We've only eaten there a handful of times and found it a bit hit and miss for food. We have had a couple of fabulous meals there and a couple of not so good. Yesterday the food took over an hour to come and 1 order was wrong. The buns for the burgers and hotdogs were very toasted and portions on a couple were a bit stingy. It isn't the cheapest for food so a bit disappointed but staff were friendly and helpful.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordFriendly attentive staff we wanted for nothing. Starters were great Main course of burgers was more than we could handle had to skip desert disnt eat till lunch time the day. The takeaway fish and chip odfer seems a great idea if you are local and a great way to supplement the restaurants income
The Butchers Kitchen – TelfordExcellent food great choice fantastic staff Five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Will be back soon Sunday banquet is great value
The Butchers Kitchen – TelfordMe and my boyfriend came for the first time and loved it. The food was so tasty and the service was great especially from the waitress we had. We will definitely be coming back and trying the rest of the menu. Also the belly pork was the best we’ve ever had. Only thing that let it down was the car park as very tight and small but can’t be helped
The Smokey Cow – TelfordI had high hopes for this restaurant but was severely let down! 1. I booked via the website on 20.08.22 and asked someone to call me as it was for my mothers birthday on the 21.08.22 and wanted to discuss how I could bring a cake and have them bring it out etc - no one called! 2. First ordered drinks at the bar - had no lemonade, not the end of the world but when you want shandy or lemonade in the wine is was! 3. Seated at table, after waiting over 10 mins we had to ask if it was table service or order at bar - finally someone came over and took the order 4. After 20 mins of waiting for food and watching other tables receive their food who ordered after us we asked the young gentleman where our food was - he came out but didn’t address us but another lady did and informed us that there was an issue with the ticketing machine - essentially the food order didn’t reach the kitchen! finally after another 5-10 mins the food came out …. OH BOY 5. The portions are shockingly poor / mash potato was so dry it looked days old! / 3 roasties per plate - quality was so poor none of us finished the meal 6. I asked for mint sauce and salt/ pepper - was given a jar of mint sauce as you would buy it from your shop and also the small packets of salt and pepper you see in fast food shops Overall I had high expectations for this meal and was severely let down by service and food quality - I paid the bill and not even reduction due to the long wait time, we didn’t stay for desert but rather went to another restaurant - poor service / poor quality food and given the occasion just felt very disappointed! Avoid at all costs
The Tayleur Arms – TelfordWe had Sunday lunch there with my mum and two children. The venue is lovely, and very clean. The staff were friendly, and attentive. And the roast dinners were AMAZING! The portion size was perfect, and at a good price. My son had a burger from the usual menu, and he said it was the best he'd had in months.
The Bull – ShrewsburyExcellent service, food and value. Enjoyable experience.
The Bull – ShrewsburyGreat food and service. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Plenty of vegetarian options and staff were extremely attentive and flexible in terms of allowing us to make changes to our order. The setting and outside seating area are lovely. We will definitely come back and have already recommended to some friends.
The Malthouse – TelfordVisited the White hart on the 15th August. This place is well worth a visit. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive. They also have a loyalty scheme too so we will definitely be back.
The White Hart – IronbridgeArrived at The Water Rat yesterday for Sunday lunch with two other people! The table was ready and our order was taken promptly. The meal was delicious and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! The staff were very pleasant and did not rush us with our desert! Excellent choice of venue as usual and we will return very soon!
