Had a meal at The Malthouse on Friday 11th March. I had the meat lasagne and my partner had a burger. The food was really nice and the staff were attentive. After the meal we went into the bar area where Fruit Machine were on, a great band so we had a brilliant night & we will be back.
The Malthouse – TelfordDelicious food and a cosy atmosphere. Was disappointed to have to wait 1hr to be served our food as there were only a couple of other tables occupied. Staff welcoming and friendly.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe were a group of six at 7pm, there was only one other table in the restaurant at the same time. Extensive menu to which we were looking for to. We ordered starters and mains and waited excitedly. Brie wedges - lovely Nachos - lovely Potato skins - tasteless and luke warm 2 lots of chicken wings - acceptable but luke warm Pork Scratchings - ran out. Waitress was very apologetic but very professional. Mains 2 x Macaroni cheese - bland, running and the chicken on the top was cool. Steak and Kidney Pie was ordered, at this time we were advised they had run out! Reordered Beef short rib with jalapeno mash with crispy onions, peppercorn gravy and shropshire blue sauce. Meal arrived, jalapeno was just slices on the top, no onions, they had run out of peppercorn gravy and Shropshire blue sauce.......... How hard is it to make a gravy and a Blue sauce! Especially as there was only two tables and no one else arrived all evening! Smoked haddock and salmon fish pie, creamy mash, seasonal veg and lemon and tarragon sauce. Meal arrived look nice......... the seasonal veg was a slightly warmed cabbage with chopped green beans, the pie had lots of tasty fish but again not hot, the sauce...... they had run out! The other 2 ordered the sharing pitmaster. Ribs and short ribs were tough to the point they could not even nibble at the meat and they were full of gristle and fat. The chicken was ok, the brisket was tasty and hot, sausage was nice, pork and beans were cold, no coleslaw turned up and the corn was luke warm again. Desserts Amazing - everyone enjoyed every mouthful, it was the best course of the day. In short, front of house superb, they are efficient and polite with a smile. Unfortunately for them, they were relaying the apologies from the kitchen. Food - underwhelming, for so many issues to have been had with everyone's meal, it wasn't just one 'fussy' eater. Shame as we have eaten in many of the other branches and had much been food served. Not sure why a kitchen cannot make sauces or deliver food hot. Not an experience we will be returning to try.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordGreat food and great service, would defiantly recommend a visit.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordFood was lovely, service could have been quicker, waitress did her best. hasn't put me off though.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordThe Malt House catered for 19 of us in March 2022. I absolutely cannot fault them. The service was excellent and the food was beautiful. All food was brought out together and no one was sat waiting. Staff were immediately on hand if we needed anything. Food was simply perfect. Absolutely fantastic meal, thank you.
The Malthouse – TelfordVisited the White Hart on Saturday night. The food was amazing, we had a starter and a main course and it was superb.
The White Hart – IronbridgeWow….great atmosphere, food really really good. I had the burger, it was …memorable. The Slaw is amazing. My wife had the salmon which was also outstanding. Cheesecake shared for pudding was also really, really great! Can highly recommend the Estrella too….only small niggle was very long waits between ordering and being served….nibbles never arrived and then main course showed up so had to remove the much anticpated olives from bill. But when we were served lovely friendly staff…. Will be back
The Smokey Cow – TelfordHave reviewed The Swan before. Still like the place. Food is always good, atmosphere very pleasant. My only gripe as such was service this time around . The time period from order to table was i feel longer than normal. 30 minute wait for starters was to long needs addressing i feel. Place was not busy.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordBeen to the pub many times recently, always such a great atmosphere, staff are lovely very tentative and always have a smile on there face. Milly and Eve especially. Food was amazing as always and wasn’t waiting long ! Will be returning again

The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe were a party of three, quietly celebrating a 70th birthday. We weren’t sure, up until the day before, whether the pub would be open (due to the very recent flooding of Ironbridge) but we were really pleased that our booking went ahead. The pub has a lovely feel: relaxed and spacious. It took a long time to receive our drinks but there was only one member of staff waiting on every table. He was very friendly and apologetic and, when our food arrived, it was presented well and was tasty too. We will definitely be back.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordLovely meal with the family. Huge portions of good home cooked food. Staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They had ran out of quite a bit of dishes but they offered us alternatives which was fine. Reasonably priced. Will return.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordBooked in for a late Sunday lunch only a few hours before selected time. One of the best Sunday lunches I’ve had in a long time however there was a couple with two dogs who just continually yapped.. I’m not sure what was worse, the constant barking or the owner continuously telling the dog ‘no’. Although the waitresses were brilliant I thought they could have handled situation better as it was clearly off putting for the customers who have paid good money to come out. I think because there was only a handful of customers they let it slide. Beautiful food and setting and service but the situation ruined all of this.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordMy husband and I had Sunday lunch, both had beef with all the trimmings and have to say the food was outstanding, the beef melted in your mouth . The stafff were very friendly and polite. . Will look forward to visiting again soon . Thankyou to all the staff at white heart . You are all doing an a amazing job
The White Hart – IronbridgeThe food was fantastic, and the staff were so welcoming, I would highly recommend a visit. We had the prawns and the steak to start, and the risotto and belly pork for main. All meals were delicious, especially the stater.
The White Hart – IronbridgeHad a meal on Saturday night. Beef brisket was very nice. Plenty of beef and the sides were nice. My wife had the beef rib. The outer part was very salty. The potato and spring onion mash was very nice. Didn't think it was pricey. 2 mains one side and drinks came to £60. I woukld go again.
