How disappointed we were. We didn't go to Y Sgwar for our first meal of our visit. Had we known what we found on the second night we would not have made that mistake. Our second night meal was incomparably good. The main courses were so full of flavour and the desserts were an adventure. We cancelled out booking for our last night and returned to Y Sgwar. As before the food was outstanding. We also enjoyed our brief relationship with the wonderful staff. What a pleasure to get a bit of humour from them even though they were busy and in top gear. Wonderful place

Delicious dinner. A taster of several dishes off the menu to get yacht club members familiar with your offering. All very good and great to have The Cove open again. We wish you the best of luck this summer and we’ll be back very soon !

Opening day tasting menu. Great tastes from the menu. Loved the salt and pepper sweet corn strips. The steak fell apart in the mouth, so tasty

Great food! Have not tasted lamb so good for many years accompanied by 'real' dauphonoise potatoes and fresh vegetables. Cooked to perfection and a with the king prawn starter this was a memorable meal.

The herb crusted lamb was devine and the duck was fab. Scallops to start and chilli & garlic prawns wonderful. Lebanese red wine excellent.

I love eating at The Vic. Always an interesting menu with lots of tasty choices. I have no hesitation recommending this fabulous dog & family friendly pub with immaculate gardens to my customers!

The restaurant is location a few minutes outside Potthmadog but worth the drive. Lovely building and a friendly welcome. My wife and I went on a Tuesday so it wasn't busy which suited us. Menu was small but enough variation for most tastes. I has the mussels to start and they were plump and delicious - would have preferred the toast on a separate plate though. We both chose the duck breast as a main and again it was cooked just right and again delicious served with buttered greens, dauphinoise potatoes and a plum jus. Just great. Pavlova to finish rounded off a special evening. Heartily recommended. Visiting from Chester so regrettably can't be a regular visitor.

We were SO pleased we stumbled across this absolute gem of a restaurant during our recent visit to the area. We got good vibes straight away from the warm welcome we received when we turned up, despite it being a last-minute booking. We shared a starter, and had a main course and pudding plus drinks, and the overall cost was very reasonable. Each dish was delicious - unable to fault! It's a shame we live hundreds of miles away or this would become a regular for us, for sure.

The whole experience on Sunday could not be faulted. Welcome, Service and Food were outstanding - along with the excellent value for money menu offered. We travel regularly throughout North Wales and UK in general and in our opinion this was the best experience ever for a Sunday Lunch. Will definitely visit again.!

Lovely meal, generous portions. My 94 year old M in L really enjoyed her minted lamb meal - trust me that is a testament in it's self. She commented again today it was lovely. Bonus lol. Thank you. Xx

Visited Porthmadog area and stayed in Tremadog for a short weekend break with my Wife and Mother in Law. With the two ladies being excellent cooks themselves we all know and appreciate great food and all I can say is what a find this restaurant was ! The owner she granted us our request of a table with a nice view, very nice indeed and a great start. The staff were welcoming and very good service throughout. The food was nothing short of sublime, our compliments go out to the fantastic chef. The meal was absolutely delicious throughout and the produce is clearly top quality and the best of Wales. The meal was a highlight of our weekend and we are still talking about how good it was ! Suffice it to say we all left the restaurant very satisfied and very full :)

Four of us went for Sunday lunch for our friends birthday. Two of us had roast beef, one had lamb, the other roast pork. We all said probably best Sunday roasts we had ever had in a pub. The meat was so tender and just melt in the mouth, great selection of vegetables freshly cooked. The gravy was amazing! Yorkshire pubs were huge and nicely done...couldn't fault the meals in any way. Great service too, the pub was really busy but staff still had time for nice welcome and smile. Well done all at Victoria!

It was my Birthday dinner and my expectations were high as this place was recommended to me by a lot of people. Food was perfect. We had lamb, duck, scallops and halloumi. Everything was cooked perfectly. I will come back again and will recommend it to my friends. Thank you.

I went with my granddaughter for tea. Staff were incredibly friendly, warm and attentive. We had the homemade curry and child's hot dog, although this was a proper sausage and went down very well. I quote 'Chips were the best chips ever,! The plate was empty,a sign of good food if a child empties the plate. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
