Always an excellent Sunday Lunch ..our favourite place and staff are so friendly
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogSuperb meal- the lobster was excellent. Very busy but staff were superb- calm and friendly. Varied wine list with decent and reasonably charged options. Highly recommended.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogThe food is not as good now as it was even 6 months ago. Expensive but not great quality. The beef burger contained pork and was of the cheapest meat. The bruschetta at £10 was definitely not value for money. There was an issue which the manager dealt with very well. Overall would not recommend for food but as the busiest pub on the area doubt they will be worried .
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthAmazing food and service
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogExcellent meal as always.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthVisited the Victoria on Sunday. The pub was busy and had to queue for five minute’s or so to order. The bar staff were very friendly. We ordered two large roast dinners one lamb and one beef, an extra cauliflower cheese and an extra Yorkshire pudding. The food was brought within fifteen minutes to the table all piping hot and plenty of it. The meat melted in the mouth and was just delicious. We couldn’t fault it at all. A fantastic home cooked Sunday lunch
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthFabulous food and wine with great service. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant and the scallops starter.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogThis was our third visit to Y Sgwar, and the food was, as ever, excellent. The ambiance was terrific, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our only criticism is a logistical one. We follow the Early Bird strand, as we come to the restaurant at the end of a day's walking in the area, choosing to arrive at 17.00hrs so that we can return home to Llandudno at a reasonable hour. We would come to Y Sgwar more frequently if there were more variety available on the Early Bird menu. As far as the service is concerned, it is intrusive to be asked whether we are enjoying the food whilst conversing, and indeed to be addressed rather cheaply as 'Guys'.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogFabulous food. Friendly service. We were celebrating a family birthday and everything was perfect.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogWe thoroughly enjoyed our 2 course Early Evening meals - starters of prawn cocktail & mains of the tastiest lean roast lamb with the most amazing gravy all washed down with a bottle of chilled Pinot Grigio . Lovely ambience to the restaurant with pleasant background music. ( please make sure that the staff do have tea towels hanging from their waistbands )
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogThe sole was dry as a bone completely tasteless and over cooked...and there were 3 pieces. Huge portion of chips. Way too much on the plate. The red onion and cheese tart was very average and soggy. Veg were cold. All so very obviously frozen food...try a different supplier ! Should have complained but only 2 people behind the bar...huge queue to order and to pay. Waited 40 mins for our food. Discrepancy with another table's food order being put on our bill that took the guy behind the bar ages to sort. Really poor food and service . The staff were pleasant but overworked . Awful experience to be honest ! Wouldn't recommend!
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthBrilliant meal, great pub will be visiting again!
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthWe came on Sunday and had a lamb roast and my husband had the pie we definitely enjoyed our meal. It was the best we’ve had in a long time Credit to the chef and the staff are staying down the road in an Airbnb as we come to Bournemouth for one night. We definitely come to this pub again in the area.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthBooked a table for Sunday lunch. Food was lovely, staff were friendly and attentive - no complaints!
The Bridge End Hotel – LlangollenBrilliant food and service as usual
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthIf you’re looking for fine dining this is the place to go. Fabulous, delicious food and fantastic service.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogA truly fantastic place, where we were greeted with a wonderfully warm welcome. The staff were not only lovely and accommodating, but their attentiveness made all the difference—nothing was ever too much trouble. One of the two dogs in our party is quite nervous, and this was her very first experience dining out in a restaurant. Thanks to the thoughtful team, who had considered this when I booked, we were seated in a comfortable spot, and she was even treated to some special goodies! The food was absolutely delicious, leaving us with nothing but empty plates and satisfied appetites. From start to finish, I couldn't fault this charming pub or its delightful landlady. A heartfelt thank you!
