The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichSadly, not a great experience. I booked a table for lunch as it's my husband's favourite place and I had organised a special day of treats for him. I was working, my husband came in and was told he didn't have a table booked, luckily it wasn't busy, which, for a Saturday lunchtime is unheard of. I questioned this when I arrived and was told that it was for our surname, well my husband has the same surname as me?! ...My husband already had my order and ordered for us when he arrived. I came 15 minutes later, as I said I was working and didn't have a lot of time. At 30 minutes after my husband ordered, I asked how long the order would be, a salad and a sandwich. We were told 5 mins. At 45 mins it still hadn't arrived, I cancelled my order as I didn't have enough time to eat it before I had to back to work. I was quite annoyed as my husband ended up eating by himself and I didn't have time to get anything else for my lunch. We have enjoyed lunch here many times, but sadly the service and food was not up to its usual standard.
Cafe De Paris – NantwichNot great experience food took an hour and was really tasteless. Lovely pub nice service just food was really poor.
The Cheshire Yeoman – Ellesmere PortI booked for six people, the weather was really good, so we asked if possible we will get the service outside, quickly they prepared two tables and service by friendly staff , the food was lovely, so we really had a good time for sure we will book it again.
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordHad a lovely lunch. Parked at the Plough then went on one of their walks first. Would recommend 100%
The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichA birthday celebration at Bacchus. Such a lovely restaurant. The food was delicious as always and the staff are lovely. One of the best restaurants in this part of Cheshire. Highly recommend.
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldWe had a lovely afternoon tea at The Mere Court Hotel. Every item was super fresh and tasted delicious. The service was fabulous and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, and we will definitely be returning in the future. Highly recommended.

The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichI’ve been going to the Plough for years on and off as and as yet I’ve never had a bad meal, I meet up with old friends from work and we go here, lovely atmosphere and service is very good and staff friendly, and of course lovely food.
The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichGreat place to eat and relax — delicious homemade food, friendly atmosphere, and excellent value with local drinks and £3.50 cask ales. Highly recommend! Recently taken over
The White Horse Inn – ChesterGreat food and service would come again.
White Lion at Alvanley – FrodshamMyself and 3 other neighbours enjoyed a very pleasant evening at the Plough , Whitegate last Monday evening. We all had delicious home cooked meals. Two of us had the steak and ale pie, one had the salmon and another the chicken. Each entre satisfied our expectations and we would come again. The meat pie was tender and there was plenty of gravy. The atmosphere was welcoming, cosy and right for a lovely evening meal out. Staff were attentive in just the right way. The price was as expected .
The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichThe food was very good value for money. It was fresh hot and substantive. The service was fast and functional.
Panama Hattys Restaurant & Bar – TarporleyWhen we walked into this beautiful little pub, we were filled with optimism, but unfortunately that all changed and the experience went from bad to worse, our booked table wasn’t even ready, so we were stood by the bar waiting, the guy that was working set the table but didn’t even inform us when it was ready he just went on to serve other people, so we took it upon ourselves to sit down which meant we were left for almost 15 minutes without even a menu between us. We eventually received menu’s and waited a further hour after ordering for our food to come, I appreciate it was Mother’s Day but there was no mention of a delay on the food. The food was also substandard. Myself and my partner had the Angus beef sirloin which according to the people responsible for pricing a £23 plate of food, having worked in kitchens as a chef I can say comprehensively that the plate we had was average and was more like a £15 plate of food, it was bland and the meat was dry. The worst thing about the whole experience though was that certain members of staff completely ignored us as they were too busy seeing to the needs of locals who were congregating round the bar having drinks. The only shining light and credit to this place was a young girl very slight in build with ginger hair, I wish I had of taken her name as she was amazing and made this experience bearable, a credit to a very poor place
The Coach and Horses – CongletonWe ate here for mothers day as our usual go to was fully booked. This was not our first visit to the venue but it was our forst experience ona sunsay. The portion size was great, the selection of vegetables was amazing the most weve had whilst dinig out. The only real negative for the food was the meat was very chewy and stringy in parts (both the lamb and the beef) and the potted dick was very dry even drenched in custard. The sevrvice was hit and miss, the male server was very polite and good at his job. Our female server didint have the same skills. we felt very rushed and mot very welcome, i appreciate it was a busy day for them but we didnt get the service we thought we would.
