Myself, hubby and brother had lunch at The Carriers yesterday, it was a horrendous day, the weather was appalling. However, the pub was toasty warm and welcoming. I had Lasagna, my favourite, it came with salad, garlic bread and chips, which is unusual to have them all, often its extra, but it was delicious, piping hot, hubby had Hunters Chicken and my brother had the Haddock fishcakes, all the food was amazing. The staff were lovely, a credit to the management, so helpful and friendly. The road works with the diversion must be affecting their trade, but I strongly urge you to go, follow the signs, we're local so no worries for us, but its so worth it. A lovely meal in beautiful surroundings, what more can you ask for. Also there's a very generous discount due to the diversion. We'll definitely be having lunch out again, soon.

Excellent service and food as usual

Went for a friend's birthday lunch yesterday, for the first time. Very impressed with menu, food and friendliness of staff. On the pricey side but to be expected of a formal restaurant in Prestbury and worth it for an occasion.

Visited for an afternoon tea with nan. Mum and auntie. Lovely girlie afternoon. Sam the lady who served us was lovely. Afternoon tea was delicious and served on vintage china. The hotel has so much character and the grounds around were also lovely. Definitely visit again

Booked for 5pm, so decided we would look at the early bird menu. Walked in, young girl, really not a friendly vibe at all, didn't offer early bird menu only main menu. Had to ask and she seemed to be annoyed tht we asked for it, not just me that noticed. Food was actually very good and no complaints, value for money and good quality, but honestly, the girl with dark hair in particular really needs to change her vibe, just so unfriendly, couldn't crack a smile, didn't seem happy being there. Young lad on the other hand was very friendly and seemed to appreciate our custom. Would go back , but hopefully she would be having a better day.

After a period of losing some of its traditional reputation for good value food we were delighted with our recent visit and with the revised menu and sensible prices which put it back to how we remember it during it's hay day.

For the last 20 years or more Bacchus has never failed to provide good food, great service and a relaxed environment.

Food was excellent and very tasty. However service was appalling, arrived and took seats as the table we booked was newly occupied. Had to go and find a menu and ultimately a person to take our order.

Excellent Saturday lunch, as always. Caesar salad exceptional with a beautiful dressing. Children's lunchbox good value; balanced menu! Our waitress made us feel special. 5 star rating!

The haloumi was perfect followed by sea bass which was cooked perfectly and very fresh Service was really friendly too - great job. We’ll be back

I cannot say enough good things about this pub. It has such a cosy, welcoming, local feel. A true country pub. It’s beautiful inside. You can tell the food is well made and they take pride in their menu. It’s dog friendly and boy are they welcoming to your dog. It’s lovely. Not only are the staff friendly but locals were very nice. We felt welcomed there. I cannot recommend this pub any more. This is my new local
