We enjoyed a wonderful meal, my steak was cooked to perfection, and my sisters scampi was equally good. Great service, prompt, and service with a smile, the atmosphere as always was perfect. The only downside was the chocolate, cherry and rum tart, it had run out again, i have yet to taste this dessert, but considering it is in demand, it must be good, i joked with the lady that served us, that when booking in future, i should pre book the desert. I have given 5/5 for every category, and i would give more if i could.

Not a pleasant experience overall. Doors were left open and there was a hell of a lot of flies , a lot on table and around restaurant.

Had a beautiful meal for my daughter's birthday on 1 August. Lovely service. We go quite regularly and always so good.

Beautiful setting and lovely pub. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Been here a few times and had my parents visiting from Scotland so was the obvious choice for a meal. Couldn't fault the food, it was beautiful.

A lovely friendly pub. Welcomed a family of mixed generations plus two dogs into a lovely atmosphere. Food was spot on with great service and smiles. Thank you so much for a relaxing evening with good food. We will be back.

This was the second visit to the hotel for afternoon tea. I telephone on the morning of our visit to make sure that the disabled ramp would be in place as our first visit the ramp was not available and we had to eat in the bar area. When we arrived the ramp was not in place and we had to wait till they found it. The restaurant staff when we eventually got seated were totally disorganised serving people not in order.

Lovely restaurant, wonderful service , but sadly we were underwhelmed with the food …. We chose the £29.50 menu… We all found it very salty … we drank rather a lot of water whilst dining plus when we got home!! We thought the menu would have been better…. we would have preferred….. if it was a 3 way choice ie… a choice of a starter or a dessert with the main course. Sorry to be so negative , but you did ask me!! Would love to try you again if my two little gripes were put right!…..x

What a gem! The food was excellent and service was faultless. Will return when next back in Chester.

We really enjoyed our afternoon tea, yesterday. It was very nice food, served very well in a comfortable environment. We have been before and it was just as good. We will inform our friends and family. We will be back.

Lovely food at a very reasonable price. Very nice, interesting, quirky decor makes the experience even better.

Just had a late lunch with 3 friends. Lovely and fun waitress serving us. Everything we had was delicious. Just be warned if you like it hot the Cajun chicken burger certainly is spices !

Top class restaurant. Good value for money. Good choice of Menu. The service is always top class. Nice to see you again Mike. It’s really is a special experience. We’ll be back again soon

Fabulous wine bar that serve great charcuterie boards at reasonable prices , the staff are friendly and very attentive especially the ladies who were on shift on Saturday evening when my friend and I went. Well done to everyone it’s a real gem

As always food and service was fantastic been going there for well over 20 years have never been disappointed and the 2 courses for £17 is excellent value will definitely be going back
