Food was lovely. Service was ok.

We had a lovely day visiting Cotebrook Shire Horse centre, and finished the day off with a wonderful meal at the Alvanley Arms. I had the roast turkey and my sister(who i care for), had the small scampi. The roast was lovely, lashings of gravy, roast potato's and mash. Great service and a lovely atmosphere.

We booked for a group of 7 for my birthday. Women of a certain age, we were all very appreciative of the air conditioned resteraunt. My favourite place to eat in chester, this hidden gem never fails to deliver excellent food, ambience and service. Be it for party bookings or a more intimate date with my hubby, this is always my first choice.

We had a table booked but decided to leave after being told around half the menu was unavailable. We were then informed that any dishes containing eggs were also unavailable, leaving very little choice. It was really disappointing.

We had a very nice afternoon tea for a 70th birthday. They made a special celebration plate for the birthday guest. The service was excellent. The food was good. The room was delightful , over looking a water feature.

Lovely meal really enjoyed ourselves

Amazing food and amazing service! Really enjoyed it the other night. The only thing is it can be a bit on the pricey side but everything else is spot on!

Beautiful Sunday beef roast dinner 6 veg, roasties were perfect and creamed carrots and potato were delicious. And it was hot. Definitely visit again. Profiteroles were to die for. Thank you.

An absolute gem of a restaurant . Personal service with a smile and food hard to find better without the city prices .highly recommended this gem .

Great service and lovely food but the portions were tiny!

Good value for money and friendly staff

We were a group of 5 going to the nearby Little Theatre for 7.30 show. Our food arrived promptly and in plenty of time to enjoy the meal without rushing. We were warmly greeted and seated in a spacious, clean and contemporary restaurant and the service was excellent. The food was fresh, beautifully cooked and presented and tasted delicious. The portions were generous and excellent value for money. One of the best restaurants in Chester and we shall definitely be returning!
