Fabulous food and great service as always!

Had a fantastic meal and a very relaxed experience. Service was good and the prices were reasonable.

Having been visiting the White lion for over 15 year as it’s are local pub there has been a disappointing deterioration in the quality of food and the presentation, we do continue to visit but again disappointed on Friday , the salad dressing is now just olive oil it’s just some salad leaves no tomatoes cucumber onions, which for the cost of the starter we feel is poor . There was no table mats or cutlery put on the table till after the starter had been delivered and it’s wasn’t busy at all . The spot light was faulty over the table facing the wrong way making the table dark when I asked could it be turned to face the correct way was told there waiting to get it fixed . We will continue to visit but would love to see a return to better quality food and service .

I had the pate which previously has been the nicest pate we have ever tasted the new one on the menus is no were near the quality of the previous pate that always served with chutney. Absolutely wonderful restaurant, so much fun, great food and service. We can’t wait to come back again.

Amazing as always , lovely friendly staff . Authentic Italian food

This was my first visit for several years and I was pleased to see the restaurant was still very welcoming with a great atmosphere. Unfortunately the service was very slow. No one came to take our order so we flagged someone down. We then waited 30 minutes for our meal. I ordered the goats cheese and onion tart which was so small it looked like a starter as it was a large square piece of puffed pastry with a small round filled centre , served with salad. Very poor indeed. I didn’t complain at the time as I’d waited so long I didn’t want to wait for anything else. We then asked to see the desert menu but it never arrived so after another 20 minutes we decided to just pay the bill on our way out. I shared my disappointment with the staff member who took our payment who apologised and advised they were short staffed. We had 2 drinks taken off the bill. Overall very disappointing

Came for tea on Saturday 24/05/25 @17.30 myself and husband both ok ordered the cod and chips , my husband's meal was perfect fish lovely where as mine was complete opposite hard batter and very little fish inside it , what fish there was had to be scraped of the batter, if both the meals where as good as my husband's I would give it 10/10 but my meal sadly let it down and we won't be returning .

Been to The Plough quite a few times now due to pleasant, polite and efficient service from the staff, plus the choice and reasonable cost of the food Would highly recommend a visit . An overall lovely country pub in which to eat.

A Delightful Sunday Lunch Experience We recently enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at The Plough we had the Trio of meat Sunday roast, The meal itself was hearty and well-prepared, with generous portions and rich, comforting flavors that hit all the right notes for a traditional Sunday roast. What truly elevated the experience was the attentive, friendly staff. From the moment we arrived, service was friendly, efficient, and thoughtful without being overbearing. Our meals arrived quickly, allowing us to relax and enjoy our lunch without feeling rushed. In all, it was a warm and welcoming dining experience that combined excellent food with exceptional service. We’d happily return for another Sunday lunch.

Had a family lunch yesterday and it was lovely. Food good, service also good, cocktails delicious! Just a little request for those of us that are dairy intolerant could you please add some dairy free milk, e.g. oat milk to the menu please. Thanks

Popped in for Sunday lunch! We had the roast beef and half roast chicken! Very tasty and plenty of food! I couldn’t finish it all!

Our afternoon tea was delicious.the scones were the best we have ever tasted. Our waiter was superb, very friendly and and happy. A beautiful dining room.We walked around the beautiful grounds in the sunshine. We will definitely visit again and we have recommended you to our family and friends. Thank you very much
