Delicious food and friendly and efficient service in a homely atmosphere. We were a party of 5 including 2 vegetarians and we couldn’t fault the food, and enjoyed the banter with the team. Definitely recommend .

Pheasant Inn – Keswick4 adults. We had a table booked. There was a large Alzheimer’s group in. We were warned there might be a delay. One hour before we got our starters. This was not a problem as we weren’t in a hurry. Starters were poor presented badly. All four mains were very poor and was badly presented pub grub. My son said it was the worst meal he’d ever had.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithThe vegetable risotto was delicious and well presented. My slight complaint was the balsamic drizzle on the salad which wasn't to my taste
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe often eat here , the food is very good , nice menu to choose from and the food is always fresh and tasty . Great wine and cocktails too .Its always busy but service is quick .

La Mezzaluna – CarlisleHad a superb meal at Grants. We couldn’t fault anything. The staff are fantastic, really attentive without being overbearing. Great menu choice with enough in it to cater for everyone’s taste. I would recommend this place to anyone local and also visitors to the area.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithVery pleasant evening , service excellent, food very tasty ,
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleAn enjoyable meal at the end of our holiday. Friendly service. Menu was interesting and generally very good. We just felt the main meal was a little bit too complicated (one of the fish specials) sometimes less , in variety of tastes, can be more. However would happily return.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithAmazing large group food came out really hot and fast great service great food highly recommend
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleAs part of our day, travelling from Crewe to Carlisle by the steam train Blue Peter, we booked for lunch at Sage and Vine. It is diffiuclt to fault the food, service and value for money. Every single tapas plate was delicious with the crowning glory being the chargrilled pineapple with coconut icecream. Service was very friendly and enthusiastic at all times. As it was a mid week lunchtime, the restaurant was not full but with carefully chosen music the atmosphere was fine. Highly, highly recommended.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleDelicious food and attentive service. Generous portion of vegetables served with fish. Would highly recommend.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereDas Restaurant ist hervorragend mit tollem Essen und liebenswertem Personal,!
Horse and Farrier – PenrithLove going here for a lunch with my partner. Lovely staff and service. The food is amazing and definitely worth a visit
Sage and Vine – CarlisleOh dear. I am so sorry to do this but the evening we went was awful. Let's be clear, the young girl who served us was lovely and personable. It would seem that, sadly, there had been a funeral party previously and so we were waiting for some time before anyone acknowledged us when we arrived. We both ordered the curry and, sorry to say, it's the worst I have ever had - so thin and watery, it was like soup. My partner then ordered another tonic water, which never materialised. We didn't say anything at the time as we discovered the young girl was on her own and did her best to be friendly. Really sorry as we do like to support small local businesses, but based on our visit, sadly cannot recommend
