Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereOn an overnight stay in Carlisle and booked a table here as they advertise Gluten Free options. I was not disappointed! I settled on a Prosciutto pizza and it was lovely. Staff were attentive and I also had a quick chat with the chef about their GF pizza bases! Good price, nice surroundings, well worth a visit.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleAlways brilliant!
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleOn a day trip to Carlisle to meet up with a friend found this gem of a restaurant, great location for the station too for our return journey. Food was delicious, good price, atmosphere was good and the staff were very attentive couldn't ask for more - will be back when next in town.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleGood selection of beers and great food including the daily specials. Service was also really good. We had a great dinner and will definitely visit the pheasant Inn again when we return to Keswick.

Sage and Vine – CarlisleWe had a fabulous lunch at the Wheatsheaf on Saturday. We all tried their legendary pies and we weren't disappointed.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeSuperb lunch with husband and friend. Service was quick and very attentive. Lovely location next to the station. We had a table upstairs beside the window with a beautiful view of the area. Just as well I reserved a table for lunch as the place was packed.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWhat a great evening. The food, wine and service was excellent. The lamb and pork were cooked to perfection. Nice and chilled atmosphere
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithVery delicious meal. Had the whipped feta and hummus sharing platters to begin with. We then all had the sea bass. Was beautifully cooked and seasoned. Lovely restaurant, small and friendly and reasonably priced. Thank you.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe were up camping over the weekend & booked in for a meal for my husbands birthday. The pub was lovely, seemed welcoming and we was places straight to our table. Me my husband and our 4 children. Our table was located next to the bar which wasn’t ideal as the bar was more of a tap room and the language wasn’t the greatest for a 6 year old to hear. We ordered our food and waited 40 minutes before it was served. Which wasn’t a problem at all, we didn’t complain we just waited. By the time it had come and we had all ate it had probably been 70 minutes total. We where then waiting for the waiter to come back so we could order deserts to be told by what I assume was the manager - well that table needs to be ready in 20 minutes as we have a party coming in. How this was our fault I do not know? We still had to wait another 10 minutes before we could order desserts. Ruined our meal as feeling the need to rush. And a bill of £165 to be spoken to the way we was , was not professional or welcoming. Lovely food. Lovely pub. Shame about the staff.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsAnother great meal at the Horse and Farrier, delicious food beautifully presented ! The fennel ham on the stone bass dish was amazing ! Compliments to the chef ! Friendly staff a great night .
Horse and Farrier – PenrithWhat a great place to dine. It was a busy Friday evening, but this did not affect the excellent service - the staff were very attentive. The Beef Fillet Stroganoff was delicious and a great take on a well-known dish. Plenty of fresh vegetables served with the main course. Very tasty ice-cream to finish. Would definitely recommend dining here.
