Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFor a Wednesday in February the bistro was reasonably busy. There was only one person waiting on the tables so it was a little slow in ordering and receiving the food. One negative was we thought we would have bread to share before the main course but unfortunately even though it was reasonably early in the evening there was no bread left which I was surprised and slightly annoyed about. Having said that the main course was great and couldn’t fault it. We would certainly book again.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe have visited this restaurant on many occasions and it has on the past been excellent. However we were very disappointed this time. The food was overcooked and i had to ask for it to be remade. The fish board was smaller and considering it’s advertised as a shatter there were only 3 prawns so we had to share 1 ! The music was far too loud and the service average whereas previously the staff were very attentive.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleLovely atmosphere and really good food, especially the desert which was amazing. Highly recommend.
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleMade a late booking at Lewis’s and glad we did . The food was exceptional which you couldn’t fault at all . Staff were very friendly and the restaurant is well presented . Not had such a good meal for a long time . Great restaurant which we would highly recommend to anyone especially as it’s also dog friendly. On that point they do restrict the amount of dogs allowed and position them so that they don’t really come into contact to prevent any distractions to other guests .
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereUsually book in at The Pheasant when in the Lakes, and it’s never let me down yet. Cosy atmosphere, good beer (Jennings), gr8 food and quick (not rushed) service. And the venison bourguinon with a dumpling is awesome!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickI had never been to grants before and I was pleasantly surprised. Lovely food and staff. Really enjoyed our meal and will be back! Maybe lacked a little atmosphere - lights could be lowered a bit, more plants, fairy lights on the ceiling or something, but overall really nice time.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithLovely food, great presentation and excellent service. Would absolutely recommend.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe dined there on a Thursday night, we had a voucher to use. The food was lovely, really fresh and tasty. Drinks were good too. The staff were very pleasant and helpful with the menu. The pizza was amazing!! We will be back. Thank you
Sage and Vine – CarlisleStaying overnight nearby and found the highly rated Sage & Vine on Google Maps, so booked a table for 3 online. Made most welcome upon our arrival and selected 6 tapas dishes to share from the specials board and from the regular menu. Not disappointed, well presented and delicious. We then followed up with a "Local" pizza to share and again an excellent Italian style thin based pizza cooked in the wood fired oven. A very enjoyable evening and we promise to return.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleLoved the hospitality and atmosphere, I highly recommend

Sage and Vine – CarlisleGreat food as always! Cosmina makes this restaurant, consistently good service every time . So welcoming and always full of recommendation's
Sage and Vine – CarlisleAmazing food, lovely people, will definitely be back with friends and family what a little gem.
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleMixed review. We had a Sunday lunch which overall was nice, it tastes good, but you only got one slice of meat, which we thought was very tight given it cost £21! We had to ask for the creamy leeks, as this was not brought out. Nor did we have parsnip. We had to ask for this also. We thought it was massively overpriced and to charge £16 for a kids Sunday lunch is robbery! The service was hit and miss. Took them 45 minutes from arrival to take our order… also tight measures with hot water for a cup of tea. No teapot. Hot water and tea bag straight into a cup. Although by the time you take the teabag out you’re left with half a cup of tea. Did ask for more hot water which they did provide. Like I said food did taste nice, but not for the price.
