Food and service were incredible. Will definitely be back next time I am in Keswick and already recommended it to family visiting later in the year.

Pheasant Inn – KeswickThis is a lovely country pub with great service and even better food. We enjoyed one of the best Roast Beef Sunday lunches we have ever had which also included a perfect Cauliflower Cheese. Every part of the dinner was perfect! Good wine selection, great local coffee and well kept independent Cumbrian real ales. The service was friendly and our table had lovely views!
Horse and Farrier – PenrithLovely little traditional pub. Sunday lunch excellent - full marks for food quality and portions sizes. Staff were friendly and attentive. Will visit again.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeSecond visit in 2 months. First for a birthday celebration at the end of December - great food for all of 5 of us from the Fish and Chips, to the Cobb Salad, and the Daily Pie Special - all were really pleased. Second visit on a Sunday with a limited menu because of Sunday roasts. Beef roast was ok; half a chicken roast wasn't - more of a quarter chicken leg plus thigh; cumberland sausage small but tasty; bubble and squeak awful to the point of unedible. Advice - steer clear of Sundays unless you want the beef roast - every other day of the week great food.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely evening at Adriano's, friendly, welcoming and happy staff. Possibly the best plate of olives (presentation, quantity and quality) that I've had. Tasty and fresh mains (1 x pizza and 1 pasta). Highly recommend this restaurant!
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleAnother amazing meal, this time with friends from Yorkshire who had never been before, we had an amazing night, fantastic food n fabulous service. Your very lovely lady that is front of house, (sorry I forget her name again) just made our night, she is worth her weight in gold xxxxxxx
Sage and Vine – CarlisleFirst time visiting Pheasant Inn. Will definitely return. The best lamb Henry portion I’ve had in the Lake District melt in the mouth meat taste of whole meal absolutely phenomenal. We managed to clear our plates only having early done a 14 mile walk allowing us a little wiggle room to squeeze in a mighty portion of a dessert. Service was 2nd to none staff really friendly and couldn’t do enough for us highly recommend Pheasant Inn
Pheasant Inn – KeswickSo disappointing. Orders were taken promptly but had to wait about an hour for the food to arrive. Had to ask for steak knives to tackle the roast beef and could hardly cut into my roast potato which was rock hard. We left most of the food on our plates. Will not be back.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe had a lovely meal they have a fabulous interesting menu There's something for everyone. The staff are very attentive great service great place would recommend
Sage and Vine – CarlisleThis is a super restaurant in Grasmere serving great food Nothing seems too much trouble to ensure complete satisfaction. Fabulous
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFood was great, but we were let down. We took our young children at 4pm after school and the music was highly inappropriate, with the word “bitch” and “fuck” being shouted over and over again, in one song.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleI genuinely can not have a Pizza anywhere else, great quality, worth every penny, service always fantastic, very good selection of drink, look forward to my next visit.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleGreat food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly competent service. Thank you.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereCelebrating my partners birthday at the pheasant was a wise decision. Excellent food friendly staff couldn’t do enough and even paisley our mastiff was welcomed. Highly recommended place to dine and drink

Pheasant Inn – KeswickAte at the Sage and Vine with my friend on Saturday 7th February and once again, thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We had three small.plates each, a large glass of wine each and a caramel latte each. Came to just short of £50 each. It's not cheap here but it is the lovely food, atmosphere and service you are paying for. I had skin-on plaice fillets, hummus with flat bread and ham pieces. The amount was small (as small.platesuggests) but the sum was filling. My friend had beef and mash (this is a hearty serving and one of the larger small portions), ham pieces and three smoky cheese croquettes. She couldn't finish the croquettes. So if you fancy that combo, it is one of the more filling ones. The place was empty when we entered at 1200, but soon filled up with its typical clientele; small or large groups of women average age from mid 40s upwards and the occasional couple group. Get dressed up, stay casual, you can do both here. Do book ahead though. It's busy every day and particularly on a Saturday. We saw people coming in on-spec having to be turned away.
