We enjoyed the food served however the service was incredibly slow. A number of people complained. We were told that a lot of walk ins meant the staff were unable to cope.

The Netherwood Hotel and Spa – Grange-over-Sandsthe food was horrible and the people were too loud
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWhen we arrived we were impressed with this traditional looking British pub and were attended to immediately and shown to our seats. Drinks service was prompt and the waitress took our orders timeously. Unfortunately that is where the positives ended as the food was a major let down. My wife had Scampi for a main course, which she said was OK but the garden peas were rock hard, I ordered the Thai fishcake with Wasabi sauce for a starter and the Beef Madras curry with rice. The fishcake and the sauce especially, were tasteless and the beef curry consisted of stringy, chewy beef with no taste and as far from a Madras curry as it could possibly be. Will not be returning and would not recommend.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAbsolutely fantastic, really enjoyed the experience, the food was excellent. We will certainly be going again
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithGreat traditional pub, Lovely food, we had steak pie and a rib eye steak, both excellent . Super efficient and friendly staff, it’s a busy place with a good atmosphere , best to book , we really enjoyed it .
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAmazing! Really enjoyed our evening. The food was just so delicious, the staff really friendly but professional and the ambience was spot on. Great place and will definitely be booking again.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFabulous meal on Saturday evening. Varied menu with lots of choice. Friendly attentive staff too!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFabulous food Friendly Service What’s not to like If we lived closer it would be a regular haunt Definitely come again when we next visit Grasmere
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThis was our second visit to Lewis's and it was every bit as good as the first one in October 2021. Excellent, friendly service alongside really tasty food made for a very enjoyable dining experience. Would definitely recommend and definitely intend to return on our next visit to Grasmere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereI found this restaurant online before we arrived & thought it looked good. I booked online this morning & were happy to eat early to ensure a table. We were not disappointed. I had the French onion soup which is probably in the top 3 I have ever had. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the scallops. The pork belly was also given top marks & my lamb chops were sublime. It is not often I am defeated & cannot manage a dessert, but the portions were so generous that on this occasion I was! We will have to go back next trip. Great food, good service & delightful staff. Well done team Lewis’s.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe’ve been here a couple of times recently! Each time the food has been excellent! The staff and service has also been amazing! Great value for money! Will definitely return again soon! Keep up the good work
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithWe were really looking forward to our meal at the Pheasant Inn having been there several times on our visits to Keswick. Having booked 10 days in advance we expected to be sat at a decent table but instead were put in a back room which I hadn’t seen previously squashed in with a large group of people who were all together spread across 2 tables and talking across to each other loudly with a dog which started begging when I got my food and then was fed by its owner opening its dog meat for all to see. I am well aware it is a dog friendly pub. Our meal out was neither enjoyable or relaxing and unfortunately will not be returning. The food was really good as it has been each time we have been so sorry we will not be going again.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHad a fantastic meal at the Pheasant with friends. Have been coming here for years and the food never disappoints. Good quality food at reasonable prices. Have never managed more than two courses as the portions are so big. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great that you can now book a table online.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickA lovely visit to a vibrant bistro in the heart of the Lake District at Grasmere.Generous well presented portions from an imaginative menu. An equally interesting wine list from a little off the beaten track
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereNot the best the French onion soup was over seasoned with pepper, again with the steak lots of pepper. Would not recommend
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAmazing food! Amazing service! Dog friendly too! Especially a big thank you to Ethan! We would definitely recommend and return!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe staff are great and very helpful. They made us feel welcome from booking in until we left. The food and service were great and nothing was too much trouble. The candlelight atmosphere when we had our evening meal was so relaxing after a long walk. Just what the doctor ordered!
