Sage and Vine – CarlisleSecond time we've been to The Pheasant and I'm sure we'll be returning when we have a third short break in Keswick. A bit of a walk from the Camping and Caravan Club site by the lake, but well worth it. Thanks for a lovely evening.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickMe & 3 friends ate dinner at the Pheasant Inn last night. My friends had never eaten there before. They were all very happy with the food, service & value for money. We can highly recommend the Lakeland Beef pie, Venison Bourguignon, Apple & Gooseberry crumble & Sticky Toffee pudding. We will definitely return! Thanks
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWent with my husband for a birthday meal. I had the mushroom risotto and it didn’t disappoint. My husband had a roasted chicken breast in a white wine sauce with roasted veg and roasted potatoes he said he would recommend it as it was very well cooked and the flavours were perfect. The restaurant was quite busy but we didn’t feel rushed. Service was very good all staff friendly and welcoming.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe had been told how good Adriano's was. We travelled from Kent to Carlisle for my graduation and pre booked this restaurant purely from the recommendation. Booking was easy and on arrival we were quite early for out reservation but there was no issue and we were seated immediately. The restaurant is lovely and all the staff were attentive, happy and very helpful. The food was probably the best Italian food we have had. We all said the flavours and presentation was amazing. We had a laugh with the staff and enjoyed some cocktails. We had travelled a long way and if you are ever in Carlisle I would highly recommend if you like Italian food that you visit here. We are all sad it is so far away.
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleGreat food and great service. Very friendly staff and the food was superb. Loved the home made bread and the beef was to die for. Didn’t have a pizza but they looked amazing! Will be back.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleHad a lovely lunch at the Wheatsheaf yesterday, it was a birthday treat so expectations were high. We both had the cheese & onion pie which was to die for the pastry was so light and the filling was superb with exactly amount of onion & cheese, we finished off with a blackberry & apple crumble and a crème brûlée just perfect. The service was excellent the place was lovely and warm so I can highly recommend this place.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpePerfect as always. Lovely food, great service and atmosphere. I had the Lamb Henry and sticky toffee pudding and my hubby had scampi and apple and blackberry crumble, was all delicious and came out really quickly.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickI'm a little hesitant to give too much praise to the Horse and Farrier as in all likelyhood this will result in my not being able to book the next time I'm in the area. The service was remarkably good. The food was excellent and the wine first class.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithHad a beautiful meal last night. Food was superb and service was excellent. We will be back soon

Pheasant Inn – KeswickLate afternoon meal at the Hope and Anchor, Flookburgh. The book process was easy and we were give confirmation promptly. We ordered the Sunday roast which arrived in good time without being rushed. The food was wholesome and plentiful. The table was in the public bar area, which was warm and comfortable. The waitress who had taken our order was polite but the atmosphere of the room was uncomfortable. The loud inappropriate foul language from the bar area was including members of the bar staff soured the experience and on leaving we vowed not to return.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsAlways good value for money, excellent food and friendly/efficient service .
