Booked up last minute following a recommendation from a friend. We arrived 15 minutes early and were very surprised how popular the restaurant was, and we were given the last available table. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food arrived very quickly because the other guests were either eating or had finished their meal. We had a bottle of wine, and although it was a little expensive it was very good. Overall, we had a nice time and enjoyed the meal and wine, and we will definitely eat there again next time we are staying in Grasmere.

Amazing staff felt welcomed and relaxed straight away, very attentive and the food was lovely and arrived quickly.

Came here to celebrate my daughter's birthday on Tuesday night. The place was full and what a fab atmosphere. Had a great night, staff were lovely and food was amazing. Not one negative thing to say will definitely be back soon.

Good food and good service, well priced

We were passing through Penrith en route from the Hebrides to down south and booked a table at Grants. The food was really delicious and the service was fabulous - thank you.

We’ve eaten here three times now. The food is good and the portions large. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The service is quite slow but if you’re not in a rush that’s not a problem. However the language of a very few regulars standing or sitting at the bar is, being unacceptable and loud. On our last visit we were seated near the bar and had our 9 year old grandson with us. The language of two regulars sitting at the bar was dreadful, so we left rather than have desserts and more drinks. I could hear the member of staff who I assumed was the bar manager asking them to shush and maybe move into the other room but they wouldn’t. There were lots of other children in the pub at the time , some of them much younger.

My wife and I had a superb meal at The Pheasant last Tuesday evening. Her rainbow trout was lovely and my homemade steak pie really was ‘homemade’ and very tasty. Veg were beautifully cooked ( ie not over cooked like you get in many eateries) The staff were all very attentive and friendly adding to the lovely atmosphere We tried to book again on our last evening ( Friday ) but it was all fully booked - but we will definitely be back on our next trip to the Lakes !

We had dinner at the pheasant on Sunday, food was excellent and the staff could not have been more Accommodating, would recommend this pub to anyone.

Can't fault the food we had at Grant's of Castlegate - everything was delicious. Would highly recommend if you are looking for great food and a warm welcome. :)

I booked at least a month of staying in Keswick, due to amazing reviews, We were not disappointed, gorgeous Roast lunch with all the trimmings, The Yorkshire puddings were huge. Very welcoming staff and were lovely and attentive to us . Welcomed my dog too . Nothing was no trouble at all. Highly recommended.

Had Sunday lunch here. Lovely meal , with plenty of roast choices. All cooked delicious, lots of thick cut meat. Service great . I’m hoping to use this as my new local . Baked tatty, toasties be good on menu too when not wanting a larger meal , so far impressed.

Superb Sunday roast beef lunch. Had pate for starter also very tasty.

Wonderfull food and location. Had a steak and cooked to perfection. My wife had the salmon and was also cooked to pefection. Great service highly recommend, but make sure you book. Weld done Amanda and her team

Excellent Sunday roast! Group of 14 and we all had brilliant meals. Highly recommend. Would be good to offer a vegetarian roast would be my only feedback.
