Lovely meal served by a lovely group of staff would highly recommend

Whilst staying in the area on holiday we visited for Dinner last Saturday evening and first impressions looked good. The service was slow but we under stood that because it was very busy. However I ordered the chicken dish with chips. When it arrived the breaded chicken was burnt and served with French fries . I asked if it was possible to have a less charred one which the waitress was more than happy to oblige .When the replacement eventually arrived my partner had already finished her meal so not a pleasant dining experience. My partner then challenged two members of staff regarding the quality of my first meal and the retort was “the chef didn’t think there was anything wrong with the quality of the first meal served” The attitude of the staff and the comment made by the chef was far from satisfactory so much so that our initial thoughts of returning later in the week were quashed.

How lucky are we to have this lovely bar/restaurant on our doorstep.Feels like your in the city with its mordern vibe,friendly staff,cocktails to die for & food that leaves your mouth watering for more….5 stars from us keep up the great work CDJs.

We had a delicious meal yesterday evening, served by polite and lovely staff. We ate main courses and desserts, all of which were spot on.

Second time visiting now, definitely won't be our last when back in the area. The staff are so friendly and polite and the food is gorgeous. My mam said its the best Chicken Ceaser Salad she has ever had!! Thank you

A quiet Thursday, nevertheless we had a lovely lunch, 2 courses from specials menu. Excellent value, very pleasant service. Will do it again

I have known about the Shepherds Rest for some time. I have been on walks with my partner and my dog and needed somewhere to rehydrate. This place is absolutely stunning! The views are to die for. Danielle is a really nice host and nothing is too much. I am hard to please at times but i really don't have a bad word to say about this place. We will definitely be back with our Parson Russell Terrier Gromit soon. Thank you Danielle and all the staff behind the scenes.
