The Egerton Arms Broxton – ChesterWe have been to this pub a few times for lunch - mid week and weekends. The staff are friendly and efficient. There is plenty of choice on the menu. Good value pub food.
White Lion at Alvanley – FrodshamReally nice afternoon tea and the staff were lovely.
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordCame on Saturday evening for first time with visiting relatives. Plus points were the Masaman Curry for my wife and the flavour of the Jambalaya that the rest of us had. However, there were several minus points. The service was very bad, 10 minute wait to order drinks followed by another fifteen minute wait for them to arrive. The mussels in the Jambalaya were so tiny they were difficult to find in their shells and about one third of normal size. When we finished the mains we were given a plastic sign to use whe we were ready to order desserts which we thought an excellent idea. What transpired was that when we put it up it was completely ignored! After twenty minutes of trying to attract the attention of staff I had to shout to one of them and she said she would be back but then went to a nearby table to clear their plates instead and a few minutes later sent a colleague to us! We pointed out that the wine was defective as a large amount of sediment had gone into the last glass and there was a considerable amount in the bottom of the bottle as well. The Manager came as a result and gave a poor apology saying it was something to do with the season!, When we left we were completely ignored by our waitress and the Manager, not the way to treat paying customers and not worth another visit. The other restaurants in the Tarporley area are much better than this.
Panama Hattys Restaurant & Bar – TarporleyBooked for Sunday Lunch Superb !!! Fresh produce , beautiful surroundings
The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichVisited here Sunday with A Classic Car Run. Excellent food & service lovely setting too. The Butternut Squash Wellington was deliscious as was the curry. Nice place for a run out to on Sunny day.
White Lion at Alvanley – FrodshamEnjoyed a lovely Sunday Lunch at the Cheshire Yeoman yesterday. I opted for the soup of the day as a starter. A really delicious home-made potato and leek soup. It was really outstanding. After that my wife both had the roast beef with seasonal veg, Yorkshire pudding and duck fat roasties. It was a lovely meal and great value for money. Will definitely be visiting again.
The Cheshire Yeoman – Ellesmere PortSecond visit for me, we came for a leaving meal for a work colleague, the food was delicious and hot, mostly came out together, a delay on some, staff friendly and attentive, but communication was a bit haywire, I appreciate the busy service, but as a front of house in the past myself it's imperative to not to forget the customers requests and orders, I had to keep asking for things, which I don't want to be doing whilst enjoying a meal.
Lilac at The Chestergate – MacclesfieldGreat restaurant. Food always fantastic, service is great and friendly staff. Excellent value for money.
Birchwood Spice – WarringtonWarm welcome, given an option of dining room. Had requested when booking a specific sandwich, which had been noted and the request was accommodated. Service was great as was the selection of cakes. Minor issue the tea was a little weak, one tea bag in a pot of tea. Look Forward to returning soon. Lots of parking spaces.
