Lovely restaurant. Great food and service. The wine waiter was extremely helpful and accommodating. The only downside was it was a bit on the chilly side.

Very nice afternoon tea in a relaxed setting. The food was good, service great and plenty of tea.

We all enjoyed the ambience of the pub , friendly staff , lovely and warm. The starters we had were superb , very generous and tasty. However two of us selected the chicken which was excellent but two of us selected the fish pie which was dried up and no sauce making it virtually inedible. Such a shame as all the other meals were of a high standard. We will return and hope that this has been improved.

Just had an excellent afternoon tea with champagne…in a lovely setting, and now can’t wait to come again in better weather to enjoy the grounds.

Birthday Booking for 10 ladies. Staff friendly and approachable. Bit of a wait between food order & food delivery but food lovely once it arrived. Staff sorted out Birthday cake for us too.

The resturant had been recommended by a resident , we were visiting Chester from West Yorkshire. A short walk from the centre it is hidden away but once inside we were welcomed warmly by Greg The family run restaurant has been going for 40 years which says a lot about the quality of the food served

Love this place. Such a lovely pub to both have a drink or a meal. Staff very pleasant and food lovely.

Lovely restaurant. Great staff. Small menu but accommodative. Calamari with Aoli dip which was succulent and tasty. Ordered Chicken Supreme for mains but was disappointed to have gravy instead of creamy sauce. Chicken was very tender and a large portion.

Our most recent visit was for Sunday lunch and the pub had obviously been busy but was starting to clear as we arrived. The service was unusually slow and it wasn't clear why it was taking so long as there were few new arrivals. When the food came it was plentiful, fresh and hot and was worth the wait and we enjoyed it. Nearly didn't stay for dessert due to the wait and the restaurant filling up again but I enjoyed my pie.

Always enjoy our experience there, though it was quite chilly inside and radiator was cold. Food was good but my steak a bit chewy and sinewy. The portions were very generous, staff members courteous. We enjoyed our evening, thanks
