Alvanley Arms – TarporleyFrom the moment we checked in on NYE until we left on NYD when Milly booked us in and checked us out we found all the staff we came in contact with from the lady tending the bar and kitchen, Sam who looked after us relentlessly In the dinning room, including the male staff working on NYE, we had a lovely time and the food was delicious, first class…..

Alvanley Arms – TarporleyMade a last minute table booking and a few of us came for breakfast. The booking process was really easy and the staff were lovely on arrival and during our stay. Breakfast was delicious, as were the hot drinks. Room was a little cold until it filled up with people, that's my only gripe. Just make sure to bring a warm layer in colder weather. We would definitely return.

Alvanley Arms – TarporleyIt pains me to leave this review. I've been with my partner at couple of times and the food/atmosphere has been exceptional. Fast forward to 27th December with family. I will start by stating that the staff are lovely, helpful and welcoming. The food was a miss this time, undercooked veg/over cooked roasties on the dinners with poor quality turkey. Mash that had the consistency of smash and taste of stale mash, sausages that clearly weren't 'Butchers' sausage. The staff, as stated were helpful and lovely and were attentive to our needs. Approaching the end of our meal and a man came screaming out of the kitchen, swearing and shouting at staff and knocked over a dining chair. The whole restaurant was in shock. The poor waitress was sobbing after being spoken to like a piece of rubbish, the waiter got his bag and left. Turns out, the member of staff that came screaming out of the kitchen was the owner! He left his staff in tears and shock. The manageress was crying too. A despicable display of power and demeaning staff was on display for all to see. Everyone in my party was in disbelief, as were other patrons in the restaurant. The staff were so distraught that I was compelled to ring them later in the evening to check they were OK. We won't be going again anytime soon.
