This place is serving the type of food which Prestbury has needed for many years. Excellent ‘tapas’ and wine both very well priced with good service and lovely ambience. Despite website suggestion that diners have only two hours we have never been pressurised to leave before we were ready. Highly recommend.

The pub has been refurbished to a very high standard. Been twice this week. Last night had a lovely round glass table in the conservatory by the patio doors. Staff so lovely. Service was good despite it being very full. Loved my food , prawn cocktail had lots of prawns, and the mushroom pasta was delicious. Will be going again very soon.

Lovely and spacious, feels very luxurious and great atmosphere. We had the meze with some extras and really enjoyed it. Excited to return and explore more of the menu.

Made a last minute booking for an anniversary meal and decided to try The Royal Oak as we'd recently seen that it had re-opened. The refurbishment has been done to a high standard and the decor is very nice. We had a really lovely evening. The staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming, and the food was excellent. There's a good choice on the menu, the portions are a good size and prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be returning, and recommending to our friends.

My first visit to the salt bar. Had lunch with a friend and the food was pretty amazing. Very tasty, attractive and very nutritious, we were spoilt for choice. Milly was very attentive and we were looked after very well. Next time I’ll be taking my husband.

Nicely refurbished with lovely conservatory, restaurant and open and covered outdoor seating. Great ambiance. Food was lovely and served quickly, drinks a little slow. Will be popping back in.

Lovely atmosphere, lovely food - sharing boards and meatballs are always a favourite. A little Scandinavian gem in Macclesfield

Great to have the local pub up and running after such a long time. The food was excellent, and prompt, friendly service. Good value. An asset to the village.

We didn’t have a great experience I’m afraid. It was a hot day so the doors had been left open however this resulted in the restaurant being full of flies which wasn’t very pleasant. The food was ok but around half of the chips were almost black and shouldn’t have been served. None of the staff asked if the food was or or whether we had enjoyed the meal so we just paid the bill and left. I don’t think we will visit this restaurant again.

Our first visit to the Royal Oak since its renovation....which has been done to a very high standard. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the food and service...there is obviously a major problem with the kitchen....we waited over an hour for our main course...someone also complained they were waiting for an hour and a half !! Another couple simply got up and walked out without even paying !! As for the food when it eventually arrived...4 out of 10....we will not be going back.

I'm afraid to say we were hugely disappointed with our visit to the Royal Oak. We were looking forward to our visit and had booked for 6.30pm on Saturday night. It was fairly busy but the service was dreadful, we waited 40 mins for our starter and were ready to leave just before our main course arrived after waiting another 40 mins, no one was even in a hurry to take the starter plates. The food when it came was not great, the pie was very disappointing and the chips were dreadful. Very disappointing visit I'm afraid to say.

Very good food & service was ok the WiFi went down & had to stand at the bar for 20 minutes waiting for someone to tell me what was going on until the manager sorted our bill. The Sunday menu was very limited for options but what we had was very nice.

First time to eat since the refurbishment and booking on the website was easy however didn't receive an email as confirmation so wasn't sure I'd been successful until I telephoned to check. It was a Sunday service so the menu reflected that, couple more choices for those not wishing for a roast perhaps but absolutely no complaints.

Second visit of the week to the Royal Oak, arrived on Saturday lunchtime for 13:30 table booking but the ordering process failed. After 20 minutes I had to go and find the waiter to order the food and drinks. Once ordered the food arrived in good time and was excellent.
