Pheasant Inn – KeswickBeen eating here for years, always been good food but over the last couple of years has improved still further. The Sunday lunch is legendary, but to be honest some of the week night specials are exceptional too. It can get busy, especially on Sundays! Reservation recommended to avoid disappointment.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithLovely lunch yesterday - as usual ! Penne con Salsicia was superb
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleTo be quite honest, it was very disappointing. Booked a table for 8pm, but it wasn't ready. We sat outside to wait and we're told we would ne informed when the table was ready, that didn't happen. We finally got seated at about 8.30pm, but had to keep going in and asking. The venison was tough and inedible and chip where solid, staff couldn't manage a smile. Overall no a good experience.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent food! Our family highly recommend the restaurant. Very relaxed vibes, they welcomed our two big dogs. We had starters and mains and the food was delicious…. Kids menu was ok but good portion sizes. It’s pricey but worth the money! Would defo go back on our next holiday to Grasmere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereHad another lovely meal at the pheasant. It was very busy but service was still very good. Pleasant staff
Pheasant Inn – KeswickStayed in Carlisle for the night before heading to Scotland fancied Italian food google searched and found this place and wasn't disappointed the food was excellent even the other half had three course so to me told a thousand words even she enjoyed it had the filler steak for main melt in your mouth it's prob top 3 Italian restaurants I've been too
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleThis was our fifth visit and it never disappoints, the service impeccable, the food delicious and a reasonable price . Will be booking a table for next year
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAmazing service and lovely food - it’s a great menu and the food is so fresh and well prepared. Brilliant setting and just a fabulous place to eat.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithA lovely meal in an idyllic village pub with great service .one minor issue, just one small slice of halloumi was a bit tight on the vegetarian dish which tasted lovely.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithReally lovely meal, food excellent, service excellent, highly recommend.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA beautiful old village pub with a lovely atmosphere set in a tranquil and delightful setting. Friendly staff, great food and dog friendly. I love visiting this place and have never been disappointed especially with the food served. No wonder it has been keeping customers happy since 1609!!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent! Great service, we were a party of 12, food came out promptly and was all absolutely delicious.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleReally enjoyed our meal here. Great food, extensive menu and really cheerful service. They are very passionate about the food and drink that is served here. Thoroughly recommend.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleI come here with my sister who has a bad allergy to gluten and dairy and absolutely loved it. The staff are amazing with accommodating our allergies (replacing cows cheese with sheeps cheese!). We loved the gluten free cheesy (sheeps) garlic bread and gluten free pizza with sheep cheese - they are absolutely incredible! Every time my sister visits we are trying a new pizza each time and so far not being disappointed at all at the quality and taste! Definitely my favourite place to eat here in Carlisle as someone with allergies! Also absolutely love the aesthetics that is put into the food that is brought out...I may not be able to eat everything off the menu but I can definitely appreciate the aesthetics!
Sage and Vine – CarlisleFirst time visiting and we came for afternoon tea with a friend. The food was excellent. Gorgeous soup, pasta and sandwiches. The bread the sandwiches were made on was gorgeous. The cakes and scones were just divine. Excellent value for money, great service and just a lovely time. Came out feeling very full and looking forward to coming back again. Thanks
Brizzolaris – Dalton in FurnessWe ate here on the first evening of our Coast to Coast walk. The meal and service were so good that we booked in for a second night. However, the second experience was very different. Firstly, my order was wrong - mushroom tagliatelle turned up as carbonara. Not a problem initially as the waitress apologised (she was very pleasant) and said that the correct order would only take a couple of minutes. This should have rung alarm bells. Indeed, within 5 minutes my mushroom tagliatelle arrived but was literally mushrooms in cream with pasta with a load of dried herbs on the top. I ate what I could (and having walked 15 miles that day I was hungry!) but it was so bland that I gave up. My husband's pork belly bites had been microwaved and were so hard that he couldn't eat them and his pea and ham soup was like pureed mushy peas with no ham! We did what we could, but expressed our dissatisfaction when our plates were collected. We were offered a replacement meal and a free dessert but by this time had lost the will and left.
The Manor Inn – St BeesThe food was absolutely fabulous. The taste was brilliant and the dish I had was to die for. The service was friendly but professional and detailed. Great value for money in lovely surroundings.
