The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeHad an amazing meal, the best pie I have ever had! Being a chef myself I have tried many pies and this is the best one! Lovely atmosphere, staff and great service, couldn't have wished for a better meal while on a mini break. Thank you, and Credit to both the staff and the Chefs.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHad a beautiful meal with my husband 5 stars
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleThe food was beautiful and the service was very good. I could not fault this restaurant. It was also very good value for money.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe ate here for husband's birthday on 10th Feb, 2 adults & a 4 year old. We'd reserved a table and glad we did as it was a busy Saturday night. We've eaten here a few times before when visiting the area & always enjoyed our food hence coming back. We've also stayed for the night last year. Staff were lovely & friendly throughout our meal. I ordered the steak & ale pie with chips & veg which was enormous! I couldnt eat it all but it was beautiful. 4 year old had the child's chicken nuggets & chips with beans & this was a very generous portion & the nuggets were home made & very nice. Husband had the fish & chips which he really enjoyed & could have eaten more!! It's not a criticism as suhc but since our last visit last Feb the way in which orders are taken has changed. You now have to order at the bar, which is OK, but I do think the table service was nice. Also, were sure the chips used to be homemade? What we had was really nice but don't think they're homemade. Overall the food was lovely though, prices reasonable for the area, big portions & we will definitely be back again!! They also have Kooki the Collie dog who sits in the bar & is very friendly with everyone & our 4 year old loved stroking him & wouldn't leave until she'd said goodbye! Can't wait to return soon
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalFirst visit here and was given a very warm and friendly welcome from the staff. Service and food of high standard. Thank you
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithWhat a wonderful Thai. I have eaten here on 4-5 occasions over the last 4 months and each time our entire party has marvelled at the quality of the food. Simply lovely.
Kings Arms – UlverstonVery good pub food served in a warm, welcoming pub. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. Nice atmosphere without loud music banging away. A real bonus!! Food served piping hot and a good variety on menu. Good value for money and we will definitely return. Thank you.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalWent here on Sunday & had a beef Sunday Lunch, the beef was the best beef I’ve ever had in the Lakes & the Yorky puds were amazing. Lovely cosy setting friendly & very efficient staff, if you have not been you need to try it.
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalWe had breakfast, this morning. It was great, everything you need to start the day.
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalThe food was absolutely stunning and came in a timely fashion. The only downfall I have on this booking is when seated, we were seated at a very large table to accommodate 4 (6 with two chairs at the end with no leg room), I’ve never had this instance at any other restaurant but they then seated another family, on the same table as us. No one approached us to apologise that they had overbooked and asked if this was suitable, it made the dining experience really awkward and uncomfortable and has put us off attending in the future, after booking in advance and paying a deposit, this was really very badly handled. Overall the staff were lovely, but to not be apologise to or approached was really unacceptable.
Harry’s Cafe Bar at Yew Tree Barn – Grange-over-SandsTop Tier roast!
Harry’s Cafe Bar at Yew Tree Barn – Grange-over-SandsWe visited as a group of girls on a weekend break. Such a lovely restaurant. The staff were very attentive and really helped my friend who has allergies. The food was amazing. Would definitely recommend.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithOne of our favourite pubs in the lakes…traditional, quirky & cosy (in the bar area). Lovely food, local ale & friendly staff (especially Kookie the dog!) A great place to rest weary legs & refuel after a day in the fells.
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalEnjoyed a great meal last night. Delicious authentic recipes. We shall be back for more. Many thanks x
Kings Arms – UlverstonAnother fine roast beef lunch for us all - gravy, veg and greens all spot on. In fact, it was agreed by all that it was the best we'd ever had in a restaurant. Keep up the excellent work! Ambience was lovely, and a nice chat by the fire afterwards rounded things off.
