Booked last minute for 8 , no problems and had a beautiful post walk lunch. Pub cosy , atmospheric and food was amazing.

We have been to the restaurant many times over the last few months, also have a lovely time, good food, and wine, very polite and good service by all staff, have recommended family & friends.

We enjoyed our Christmas Eve dinner, lots of choice great vegetarian options and may we say a big thank you to all staff and to Laura she makes the best cheese cake ever. We have visited many times best food in Keswick.

Easy online booking and reminder several days before the reservation date. A menu in which there was something for everyone and, being Christmas, a seasonal choice too. Both our choices were well presented, tasty and filling. The variety of vegetables in the side dish were also very good. A warm and welcoming place to eat so I would definitely recommend it.

We had a very enjoyable meal here. Booked for our party of 4 at 7.30 , service was friendly and prompt. Food was freshly cooked and served with a nice selection of vegetables.

Despite having been described as “congenitally greedy” I have to say I had my fill when enjoying Harry’s Cafe Bar Christmas lunch. It was perfect in every way. Could not be faulted. Top class.

We had the brioche bun with halloumi sticks. It was smothered in mayo and included many cold ingredients so the halloumi and portobello mushroom were cold too. Chips were lovely. Affogato was awful - the coffee and amaretto sauce was watery and it was served with an overdone ginger biscuit - an amaretto biscuit would have complimented better. Our friends chocolate brownie was really a chocolate sponge, it lacked the richness of a brownie. Staff tried hard and we were seated by the fire which was cosy. The wine was decent and beer good. The Wheatsheaf just needs a few tweaks to make it a great place to eat.

As expected and as always delicious food, great service, lovely atmosphere and well worth a visit!

An excellent Christmas lunch thank you. Very generous, tasty portions. The cauliflower cheese was amazing. Great atmosphere as always. We will be returning to enjoy a dessert as the main course was so generous.

We went to the pub to try their pie and pint night. The pie and chips were tasty but not big and really just enough for my husband. The wine and beer were also fine. The only thing I didn't enjoy were the vegetables because they tasted as if they were frozen. It was however good value but I hope fresh vegetables would be considered.

We had a lovely meal. The food was very tasty and well presented. The staff and service are friendly. The only thing I would say is that some of the dishes are too expensive..fish pie and many other choices £20+ and deserts £8.50?! Having said that we will be going again but maybe just choose something else.

Great pub .food always fabulous .had the Xmas Turkey dinner ..staff were great letting my lady have a children’s dinner as it was massive .looking forward to coming back soon !!!many thanks Martin

Lovely staff, great ambience, hearty food.

Food was poor or at least below expectations. A sunday roast and fish and chips are a great test of a kitchen. They were both just about OK. The white fish was fresh but flaky, not suitable for deep frying. The triple cookedd chips were dry, possibly undercooked or left under warmer. Easiest thing in the world to do. Roast had veg piled in the middle of the plate covered in gravy that can only be described as Brown. Beef was overdone. Ill give the Wheatsheaf the benefit of the doubt and say it was a busy sunday running up to Christmas andthey were overbooked. I'd like to know one reason why I should give them my patronage again though

Second time we've eaten at the Pheasant Inn. Excellent food, wonderful staff. Is now our ' go to' when we're in Keswick.
