Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe booked a table in the restaurant for 7 30. We were told the table wasn't ready and it would be at least 15 minutes or we were told we could sit in the bar area. The table was right next to the bar and the other tables had dogs with them so we said we would rather wait. We were seated at about 7 45 in the restaurant and were surprised to see two empty tables so not sure why we couldn't have been seated at one of those. They weren't set up and no other diners came in. Food was lovely as always and service was good . When we asked for the bill we were the last people in the restaurant area. The waiter brought our bill, along with the card machine and stood over us until we paid the bill making us feel a bit uncomfortable. We got the impression they wanted the restaurant area cleared and customers out. Which is probably why they asked us to sit in the bar area as we were the last diners of the night in the restaurant. We have never experienced this before. Maybe it was the time of year or maybe the manager was off. But not a great impression. It certainly would make us think twice about booking again on our next visit to Keswick.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickOur family of 3 adults & a 5 year old really enjoyed our meals at the Pheasant. It is a lovely cosy place & the food was excellent. The staff are really friendly & service was good. They were very kind to our young (very chatty!) grandson even though they were all very busy on a Friday evening. Highly recommended,
Pheasant Inn – KeswickGreat food, absolutely fabulous service, we will be back! Clean plates all round and sadly no room for a dessert but the choices were awesome!
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithFantastic food and friendly service. We booked our meal the same day and wasn’t sure what to expect but we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Staff were really friendly and service was quick.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAlways a treat going to the Wheatsheaf. Whether it’s for lunch, dinner or just a swift half, we’ve always enjoyed our visit. A warm welcome, great atmosphere, lovely food and a smashing pint awaits.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeSearched for a good place to eat before visiting Keswick and pre booked a table at The Pheasant. Fantastic food, great service, cosy surroundings. Recommend booking as it was a midweek night and still very busy. Lamb Henry was perfectly cooked, the beef pie was flavoursome and the chips were home-cooked and tasty. Prices were excellent considering its popularity. We will definitely go back when we next visit Keswick.
Pheasant Inn – Keswickexcellent meal all round. Nice and ward with good service and friendly atmosphere. My daughter has Coeliac disease and has to be gluten free - no problem here, really made us all feel relaxed the menu was very clear regarding what was and wasn't gluten free so we knew exactly what we could and couldn't share and so nice for the chips in particular to be GF so much more choice. Thank you.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickI was very pleasantly surprised by the Pheasant Inn. I was expecting more pub that serves food versus a restaurant that is also a pub. The food is very, very good. Everyone at our table was very pleased by what was ordered. A very cozy, pleasant experience and I would very happily come back.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickVery welcoming and friendly. Had a lovely meal with plenty of choice. Would recommend.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithAlways a great experience at a genuine Keswick Pub. Great food, friendly efficient service and a warm - if a little cluttered - atmosphere. All part of the charm of one of the best dining venues in Keswick.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe booked a table for a meal with family. We travelled 3 hours to get there. When we arrived at the relevant date and time the restaurant was closed. Found another nice restaurant to go to instead, but was disappointed.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleExcellent experience. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Beer was good, food very tasty and well presented. Whole process from online booking to paying was well managed. Really enjoyed our evening
Pheasant Inn – KeswickVisited with family from the Midlands They had been many years ago and loved the hotel Their meals were fine but mine was v v disappointing I am coeliac and was limited for choice I chose the beef dinner The meat was inedible It was so tough I could have soled my shoes with it !! Not really what I expected from a hotel of your calibre
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe had a lovely afternoon tea at Rothay Garden on Saturday 16th December 2023. The hotel were able to deal with Gluten Free requirements and the dog was made most welcome! Highly recommended.
Rothay Garden Hotel – GrasmereThe delicious, home cooked food was lovely. We would recommend the Belle Vue to anyone looking for a tasty meal, friendly atmosphere and excellent service.
The Belle Vue – CockermouthThe food we had was very nice but very disappointing that there was nothing left in the menu for starters even though we had booked the table in advance The staff were lovely and very friendly just a shame they ran out of droid for starters
