Risotto fabulous as always and homemade chilli oil just tops it off.

A pleasure to visit Lewis’s again and to have a great meal. Unfortunately I couldn’t quite finish my lamb shank after having a starter due to the size of it! Partly solved the problem on a further visit two days later by giving the starter a miss before having a steak followed by a sweet. Great food and first class staff- always a pleasure to eat when in the area

The staff was so kind I really couldn’t believe it. There’s no question that I would definitely come again. They were really, really helpful, particularly as we were getting on a bit. Thank you so much.

Myself and my wife stayed at the Hotel on the 1st May booked a meal at 7pm I had the steak and stout pie with mushy peas my wife had the fish and chips I have to say the meal was excellent

Great food in a relaxing atmosphere. I often call in the afternoon for a couple of pints after a day on the fells. Helpful staff. Even the dogs enjoyed it.98

We had a fabulous meal , really good service too. We loved the quiet vibe in there and a great location in Grasmere.

Really friendly staff. Nothing is too much bother. Nice clean rooms. Lovely hot rainfall shower. Toiletries good quality products. Our room had a huge double bed, very atmospheric and very clean. Already looking to book another stay. The pub blends the modern and the old very well

Best fish and chips I have ever had.

I eat out a lot, especially pub food and often fish and chips and I can honestly say The Wheatsheaf’s fish and chips were the best I've sampled in a long time. Fish so fresh, batter so crisp and thin, everything really hot with delicious triple-cooked chips — and, for once, the right portion of chips too, not overwhelming the dish. I can recommend the Roberto soup too, quirky but very tasty. I scoffed the lot ! Very pleasant and efficient service and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back even though I live quite a way away.
