Food was delicious and staff were friendly. Tables were a little close together and someone constantly whistling in the kitchen spoilt the atmosphere somewhat.

La Mezzaluna – CarlisleAlways brilliant food and a super cosy proper pub. Always make sure to get at least 1 visit in when we’re up and highly recommend!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickNot sure how it could be better, Great food - we had scampi and gammon, both delicious , really friendly and professional staff, with a super traditional pub environment with log fires and great beer. The biggest impact is the enthusiasm of customers keen to tell you how good it is and how they have returned. Their wish to not only express their satisfaction but to act as ambassadors reflects how good this place is. If in Keswick you can't do better - indeed for a traditional pub setting and a great meal you'd struggle to better it anywhere.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHave been visiting Keswick regularly from Scotland every year but the first visit to the Pheasant Inn and it didn't dissappoint. Traditional inn with loads of character. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was excellent along with the service and reasonably priced. Would like to go back when it's summer and sit and have a couple of drinks outside. Will definitely go back the next time we are down.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickSunday lunch spectacular. What a wonderful pub, warm, friendly, open fires, unspoilt, real and dog friendly. I booked online very easily and was given a 2 hour slot. We arrived a little early and was seated after we ordered drinks. Lots of people already seated but the staff were very efficient and created a lovely happy atmosphere. We had a beef and a pork Sunday lunch. Its was superb, all freshly homemade, proper roast meat and crackling, huge yorkshire pubs and loads of fresh veg, roasting, mash, carrot and swede, pigs in blankets and stuffing, with loads of gravy. We were stuffed and very happy. Hubby managed a apple and gooseberry crumble with custard, also very good. Loved the pub, meal, atmosphere and people. Can't wait to come again.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickA warm welcome on a cold, very wet Sunday. The Sunday roast is one of the best around.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe had a very nice Sunday lunch recently. My partner thought the gravy was too thin and the veg undercooked. I disagree, the veg was fine and so was the gravy and there was plenty of it. The potatoes and veg were served in a pile on the plate, with the meat draped over the top. This kept the veg nice and hot. The service was excellent and the staff were very pleasant. I would have liked apple crumble for desert, but it was all sold out. Probably best to get an early sitting! There were plenty of well behaved dogs about, so we’ll take ours next time.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely food and friendly service
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleDelicious food. Great menu in traditional setting
Pheasant Inn – KeswickBest Sunday Lunch in Cumbria
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithFantastic all round service, staff were welcoming and the food was very high quality. Two of our party were vegan and it was great to see some vegan options on the menu including a non dairy ice cream which you rarely find in pubs and restaurants. Very happy and as we are moving to the area we will be back! The only minor criticism I have is that I would have liked to see one or two more real ales on offer.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeEnjoyed a lovely meal as always, thank you
