We were staying at a cottage in Flookburgh so booked for Sunday tea as only a short walk away. The pub was lovely inside but we were extremely disappointed with the food and service. Our food was burley warm, my roast beef was very tough and gravy like water. My husband's steak was also very tough and the pepper sauce (an extra £2) was also very watery and only an a small amount. The worst pub meal we've had in along time. We were told the chef was working at full capacity but when we looked around the pub was only half full. It's such a shame as it could be a wonderful pub.

Couldn’t really ask for much more. Attentive staff, fabulous food and drinks and the price is just right. Charming little bistro with loads of character and a great atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back and soon will. Thank you Lewis Bistro 5 stars.

A very friendly and welcoming restaurant. The food was impeccable. I had the fillet steak, and my husband had the sea bass, they were both cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend having a meal here.

We visited this restaurant on the 16th August and was our first time dining here. The booking was simple and we received a swift confirmation of this. My wife & I had the shared olives as a starter, I then had the chicken supreme and my wife had the cod loin, both beautifully cooked meals. Very well run restaurant, the only issue I would add is that there are a line of 2 person tables rather cosily squeezed in. A little more room wouldn't go amiss.

Overall the food was good not exceptional, disappointed with the bass tasted quite bland,did pass my comment to the head waiter and was told to pass my comment to reception which I did,know senior staff member ever contacted me,very disappointed left feeling they were not interested

Absolutely delicious food and the service was glorious, thank you for having us. Booking was super easy and then when we needed to adjust the booking it could t have been easier :)

Had a lovely meal at the pheasant. Polite and helpful staff. Both of us had off the specials board and really enjoyed it. Second visit here and we will be back next time we are in keswick

Booked this last minute and wasn’t disappointed. Service and food were both great. Staff were friendly and helpful!

We had eaten here on a previous trip to Lakeland (a year ago) and the Sunday lunch was great. This year we came on Wednesday Erving with my parents (7 of us altogether) and unfortunately it was a different story. Food was very poor quality (rubbery burgers, undercooked fish, cremated beans). One meal was completely missed and my partner had his meal after the rest of us had finished. Food seemed to be being sent back to the kitchen from multiple diners. Such a shame as the actual pub is nice and makes a change from the caravan site. We won’t go back there for food again.
