The Netherwood Hotel and Spa – Grange-over-SandsFood, service and atmosphere were excellent would definitely return
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA lovely meal on Thursday. The scallops were delicious and the pork excellent. Followed by a perfect crumble. The whole meal from start to finish was delicious and I wouldn’t change anything. The service was attentive and friendly. We booked straight away to come back. Can’t wait.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithAmazing place to stay, however the atmosphere in the restaurant was lacking and the menu was extremely limited
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenLovely food & great service. This is a beautiful pub well worth a visit. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeHad a delicious afternoon tea at the castle. The presentation was lovely, staff friendly, atmosphere felt you were sitting in the owners lounge and , the food was delicious. Will definitely return. Thank you
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenThis restaurant never disappoints. The food was top class as usual. A great variety to choose from and oh So tasty. Had a starter and a main. No room for desert. Staff so friendly and attentive. Lovely atmosphere.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleLunch at the Wheatsheaf was more than just pub grub. The food tasted fresh and the portions were generous. The staff were friendly and service was prompt. As someone who hates background music, its absence was very welcome in the spacious dining area.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWonderful country pub with superb selection of dishes including vegan options Great wine selection by the glass Excellent value
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeThe Wheatsheaf went above & beyond the call of duty when we arrived half an hour late for our booking meaning they had stopped food service. (We could get no phone signal to inform them) The staff were very kind & still provided us with an excellent meal. Full marks to all the staff. Brilliant.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeOur first time back in since the rebrand, everything is still excellent. Service is always wonderful and all the food is exceptional. A meal at Plant is the highlight of our day, we had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary and will be back as often as we can!
Plant by Kat’s Kitchen – KeswickWe had a lovely meal at this restaurant. You really need to book your table well in advance - if you do it will be worth it !
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe booked for 4 adults, 1 teen, and 1 child on a Saturday lunch time. It is a central location as we are spread about and I looked the look of the online site and reviews so I booked. We arrived early (around 20 minutes) as traffic was light but this was not a problem for the Wheatsheaf, we were greeted with a warm welcome and given seats at our table. The building itself is quirky, old, peppered with curios and antiques and very tastefully decorated. The staff were very attentive but discrete, always available to assist but not interrupting the conversation. There are also call buttons on every table (even outside) should you require assistance but not be able to see anyone. The menu was interesting with every taste catered for, seafood, chicken, beef, veg and vegan all had options. A good selection of seasonal local produce had clearly been sourced to tempt diners. We had a variety of the choices between us, from Morecambe Bay shrimp to halloumi portions for starters, Philly steak, burger and fish for main courses. There wasn't a single thing wrong with any of the food or service. We were in the area for a special occasion and the venue and meal were prefect for the day.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFood and service really good,as always. Good value for money. Will be back!
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleReliably good food and interesting menu. Beer good - particularly the Pheasant Bitter New online booking is a doddle.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickLovely food as always in this beautiful historic building . Would highly recommend
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeA lovely two night stay at Netherwood Hotel and Spa. Evening meals were excellent, Goats cheese ravioli starter, although a small portion very enjoyable. Main course of chicken was delicious and very succulent. My husband had the lamb also very tender. Staff were friendly and the service was good, went out of their way to help. Buffet breakfast was good, although a little disappointed that the cooked part of the breakfast was buffet too and not served to the table, so not as hot as it could be but nicely cooked. We enjoyed the Spa too. Definitely will be returning.
The Netherwood Hotel and Spa – Grange-over-SandsFrom the moment we arrived (early), we couldn't have been made more welcome. Everyone was so friendly. The surroundings were lovely, the food was gorgeous. Everything was so relaxed
