The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe went for Sunday lunch, the staff couldn’t do enough for you and always went above and beyond. The food was amazing, I never clear a plate and cleared both main and dessert. The pub itself is clean and well presented can’t fault at all. Definitely recommend to anyone! Outstanding all round!
Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleVery nice place and food was good
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsWe visit The Pheasant whenever we are in Keswick but this was our first Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed. Absolutely amazing meal. My pork loin dinner was really tasty and the lamb Henry was equally so. I can honestly say that this was the best Sunday lunch I've had, can't rate The Pheasant highly enough.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFour of us had a lovely meal on 3rd September to celebrate our 59th wedding anniversary. The cheese souffle, the lamb and the plum tart were particularly good. The atmosphere was great as was the service. We shall definitely be back - you are the best in the area!
Horse and Farrier – PenrithWe had a fabulous meal at Lewis's Bistro last night. The food was excellent and plentiful and it was a bonus to have some tasty choices as a vegan. The service was great, friendly and the staff were attentive without being obtrusive. Highly recommend Lewis's Bistro.

Horse and Farrier – PenrithWe had a family meal at Grants for my daughter’s 18th birthday. A bit of a treat. We all tasted a little of each other’s meals. Best steak ever- well worth the price. The lamb was amazing, so tender too. I had to have the trio of seafood as a starter again, I ordered it last time we were here and couldn’t resist having it again, delicious. Recommended.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithLovely, home cooked food & only a 5 minute walk from where we were staying in Grasmere. Polite & attentive staff We would definitely recommend Lewis of Grasmere :)
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLovely friendly village pub, warm and welcoming. Lots of choices on the menu and reasonably priced. Also dog friendly, a real bonus for us, as we were passing through on route to Scotland. As I had had dental surgery the day previously and needed something soft to eat - the chef cooked me mince, mash and veg ( not on the menu, that night) Absolutely delicious and very much appreciated. Thankyou.
Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleWe dined on a Saturday afternoon, lovely decor and ambience, staff helpful, friendly and attentive, great drink choices, lovely menu, prices reasonable, portion sizes good for tapas .
