Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithFantastic yet again. Went with friends who had never been before, and our server went above and beyond explaining different dishes, giving recommendations, and advising on how many dishes would be the right amount per person. Food was just lovely and the atmosphere is great. You are always made to feel very welcome. Sage and Vine never disappoints.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleCame to the pig and whistle for food whilst staying at Haven Lakeland. Food was amazing we ordered a Father’s Day big sharer and it was unreal. Service was great would highly recommend this restaurant.
Pig and Whistle – CartmelThis place never disappoints and we go every time we visit Keswick. Great food at a good price. Staff always helpful and friendly. Quick service. Highly recommend.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickLovely food at a 300 yr old pub, staff friendly polite and welcoming. We will be back again
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithFirst class food, excellent service and great value for money.
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleAttentive service. Food excellent. Hearty portions. Good selection of starter, main courses and deserts. Staff extremely welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend a visit. Don’t forget to book to avoid disappointment
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThis place doesn't look much from outside - but inside it is a large historic inn packed with atmosphere, good food and good local beers. The staff are a riot. It is excellent value for money. Don't tell anyone else about it!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickGreat food, friendly staff, we had a really lovely evening. Will definitely visit again on our next return to Grasmere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAmazing food once again! Brought some friends and family from Lancashire and they LOVED it here! The food, the wine and just the vibe! Cant wait to bring more people to my new favourite restaurant in the area!
Sage and Vine – CarlisleThank you all for a very tasty meal on Friday last. There were four in our party and all expressed their appreciation in the food presentation and especially the taste. We would all like to say thanks to all the staff . I particularly enjoyed the eton mess. Many thanks we’ll definitely be back. Kind regards Frank.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe have been having meals at the Pheasant for many years, never been disappointed from the food through to the friendly staff. Wether it's lunch or the various menu choices for the evening meal. We always book for the evening meals.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickA small restaurant gem in the heart of Grasmere. This is the third time we have eaten at Lewis's Bistro and the standard of food remains consistently high. There is not an extensive choice (which is to be welcomed) as that means that what they do offer is cooked and presented very well. It is always full whenever we have eaten there with a mixed clientele from families to couples or all ages. Would recommend for anyone visiting Grasmere - but you need to book ahead.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereVery nice roast dinner, although the beef was on the tough side. Vegetables were good, as was the service - the menu was quite limited, and unfortunately food service finished at 6pm on a Sunday, so we had to eat early. We shared the crumble for pud, and it was delicious - generous portion too.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent meal out. Had Sunday Lunch. From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent from start to finish. There was no rushing with regards to ordering but when we did again the staff were top class. Drinks arrived very quickly and were good. When the food arrived and we both had a Sunday Roast, it was on of the best we’ve had in a long time. It was hot. Plenty of it and well cooked with lots of flavour. We weren’t rush at any stage so had a relaxing meal. With a full belly we went for desert and again that was brilliant. So overall a very enjoyable meal out.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithExcellent meal, and made to feel welcome, staff couldn't do enough for us and really great value for money
Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleFood was great, pasta dishes especially! Staff were friendly and always on top of asking if you need anything else or another drink etc. Lovely space and atmosphere, already can't wait to go back!
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleThis was the second time that the 6 of us visited Grants, last year the food was first class. The same could not be said this time. Out of the 6 of us, 2 thought the food was good, 1 said it was OK and 2 said the food was poor.. In my case, most of the lamb dish I had was poor and some of it was inedible. I pointed out to the man and then to the lady running the restaurant that the dish was poor. both said. Sorry but made no other comment. The second complaint was about a beef dish which lacked any flavour. Compared to the previous year when all the food was first class this was a disappointment to all of us.
