First visit for many years and we were not disappointed. Very attentive friendly staff and delicious food.

We enjoyed two meals recently and both were cooked and presented to a high standard. We shall definitely return.

Service was really good. But unfortunately we were upstairs and it was very noisy. Lasagne was ok but a bit overdone underneath.

Great evening meal at the Pig & Whistle! Was very busy in the pub and felt like the staff were pretty rushed off their feet but all very friendly and the food was really good. Can highly recommend the lasagne bites and the burnt ends!

We had a lovely post graduation lunch here. We all had tapas. The food was quick to arrive, hot, really tasty and filling. Staff were friendly and attentive. We are not local, but would revisit if in the area and would recommend to others. A smaller venue so very relaxed.

The food was very good and tasty but the background music was so loud that it made it very difficult to have a conversation. A real shame

Stayed in Penrith overnight on our way south from working in Scotland and happened upon this place. We were tired and hungry and sick of pub grub, and it was SUCH a breath of fresh air. Lovely food, attentive service and good value for money, would absolutely recommend.

Tasty food and friendly, attentive staff

A great find for a family meal. The staff was welcoming and the atmosphere that of a proper pub. The food was delicious, home cooked with care which is refreshing to see. We'll definitely be back!

We always book Lewis's when in Grasmere. Relaxed and friendly environment which makes you feel welcome. The food is inventive and makes a change from the pub food you often end up eating when on holiday. I always book in advance as it is a popular restaurant.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. Explained how the menu worked as we had not visited before. The food was good portions, pizza was lovely and we had Tapas as sides all of which were exquisite If ever back in Carlisle will definitely revisit.

Booked a meal for our daughter’s graduation after reading great reviews on trip advisor. Very welcoming and friendly host. Great service and fantastic food. It’s a shame don’t live nearer as would eat here regularly. Would definitely recommend.

A delicious meal, fantastic choice, good service and very friendly staff

Can’t recommend highly enough! The food was 10/10 and service was equally the same. We were staying in Flookburgh and went here for dinner. Dog friendly also which was fab for our wee pup. Would definitely return if we were in the area again!

Booked as we were passing through en route to Scotland. Absolutely wonderful food. Very tasty, and beautifully presented. Service was excellent too. Only downside is it’s not closer to home!
