Portions were more than adequate but were not over facing. Nice atmosphere and very pleasant and attentive staff.

The Old Gate Inn – MatlockArrived a few minutes early, greeted in a very friendly manner. Shown to our table whilst waiting for our guests, we had drinks ordered and menu’s produced. Our guests also decided on their drinks. We looked at the menu, we were informed the certain dishes were in short supply. Noelle & I had the Seabass filet served with potatoes @ broccoli stems. The two boys decided on their drinks burgers & chips. The food arrived quite quickly along with other drinks. The meals excellently delivered & looked wonderful. They tasted even better. We ordered three desserts that once again looked & tasted most excellent. The service was first class all the time we were there, no rush everything was at a relaxed manner & atmosphere. We will certainly be visiting in the very near future. All told cost & service was at its best.

The booking process and overall organisation was seamless from start to finish. On the night, the Baileys team looked after our group of 26 effortlessly, and the food was excellent. There was Christmas Carol music playing in the background, beautiful decorations and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed the Christmas turkey meal, had a glass of Rose wine and coffee at the end. The staff were attentive making sure that we had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend visiting the Renishaw Cafe and not just at Christmas. We have just booked again to go on Sunday 14th December taking our 95 year old Aunt as she loves going to Renishaw for a meal.
