We are regulars at Maritimo and are never disappointed. We love tapas as you can choose a wonderful mixture of textures and flavours and share all the dishes so you get a taste of everything. The prawns are outstanding but every dish was delicious and nothing was left over. As always, the service was exemplary, attentive and quick without being rushed.

It was a get-together with my brother to celebrate his birthday and we travelled to Axminster from Torbay to meet up. The moment we walked in it felt very welcoming and the decor was typically Italian and rustic. We were greeted straight away and as it had just opened, we were the only ones there initially. We ordered a drink and spent time viewing the extensive menu. The food came quickly and was extremely good. We had a great time chatting and sharing food together and the atmosphere was so congenial that we felt like we could have stayed there all afternoon. It was topped off by dessert and my brother and husband happily polished off Tiramisu and Banoffee but that was a step too far for me and I just had a nice cup of tea instead! Even though we live an hours drive away, my husband said he would happily return another time and I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if my brother didn’t pop in (he lives 10 mins away) if only for the Tiramisu! Thank you for a very pleasant lunch.

We had a lovely meal, the staff were very busy and we’d booked at the back end of lunchtime, yet they were attentive and informative. The food was of an excellent standard and the portion sizes equally well judged. It was a vey enjoyable experience and thanks to all the staff for their professionalism and attention to detail.

Never been before, but had a lovely meal on 10th November whilst on holiday. Everything about Belluno was spot on from friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and great food at very reasonable prices. So much so, we are booked to come twice in early February.

Very tasty meat. However, this is still a pub. Order at the bar... we both had steak and chips at a rather high price of £36... I can't complain about how it was cooked. The steak was a rib eye cut, perfectly juicy, and cooked MR. I didn't particularly like the very greasy load of potato wedges or frisee lettuce. You are charged service at the bar when ordering wich to me, slightly defeats the point. The atmosphere was good. Warm and cosy..pub. I think the prices need to better reflect the ingredients used and that it is a pub. 3.5/5. For 2 people 1 drink 1 main £100.

We love The Hour Glass! It's the sort of pub you just don't come across often these days. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food is excellent (the black pudding scotch egg is outstanding!) and the wine llst is good (and the beer isn't bad either!). All round a great evening. Thanks to all concerned.

Very pleasant meal as always. Service is excellent and food arrived promptly. I must apologise for getting my booking time wrong but this was no problem for the staff.

Another visit to Belluno and another lovely meal. The food was great - as usual - and the service was warm and friendly. It is such a great place for a relaxed evening out. The fettuccine salmone and linguine pescatore were absolutely gorgeous.

A delightful eaterie right in the centre of Axminster opposite the lovely church. Good varied choice of tasty starters, mains and puddings . Excellent friendly staff to welcome you in to the nicely designed clean restaurant and provide useful information about the menu. Will definitely go again when we are in the area.

Sunday lunch for 3 people celebrating my husbands birthday. It’s a mixed review sadly. Lovely venue - cosy and welcoming. The starters were really very good ( black pudding scotch egg with soft yolk, monkfish scampi and the smoked haddock chowder). We then had a really really long wait for our main course… the waitress did apologise and gave us one free pint. We all ordered the roast beef - the beef was rare and delicious, generous portion lovely mixed of veg (swede puree, cabbage and cauliflower cheese, one carrot etc) and a large yorky. But, the potatoes were pretty much inedible and impossible to cut. I suspect they had once been lovely crisp roasties but they were now like leather. My son left all of his and my husband and I ate one each. Really very disappointing, and let the whole meal down. The waitress came to ask if everything was OK with our main course, and we told her all was delicious apart from the potatoes that were really poor quality… unfortunately, she just laughed ( I expect out of nerves/ not knowing what to say) and I assumed she would have told someone senior. But, appears not as the next thing was someone else asking about puddings, we declined as by now it was 4.30pm. When payment for the bill was taken the waitress asked how was the food… once again came some polite but honest feedback - she was more apologetic. So a mixed picture - slow with food, awful roast potatoes and lacking some customer service imho. Hoping this was just a one off, as it is a magical spot for a winters lunch by the fire.

We booked a table for Sunday lunch at this charming country pub whilst on a flying visit to Devon. We were not disappointed and will definitely go back again. The staff were very helpful and friendly, it’s was nice to walk in to see locals drinking not just a food pub! The food its self was excellent with a great choice of meat and vegetables available at the self service carvery.
