Lovely food Friendly Staff Super value Definitely my new favourite place for a lunch or tea spur of the moment
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWe had a lovely dinner at Prego. The staff were very attentive and efficient. I am vegetarian and I had lots of options at Prego. The food we had was the nicest we have had whilst eating out for quite some time. It seemed like a lot of thought had gone into the vegetarian options and not just the usual plate of pasta or risotto - although you could have that if you wanted! Lovely location as well.
Derwent Manor Hotel – Durham2nd visit here 1st time was a walk in and again it did not disappoint. Staff were friendly, food was lovely and as it was happy hour ,also great value for money.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – Durhamhad a meal here for my birthday last night (monday 24th july ) as a family of 5 didn’t realise about the 3 courses for £10 on mondays so was a bonus ive been a few times on a saturday evening and enjoyed it also really nice food friendly staff great service will definitely recommend and will be back soon
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWe accidentally arrived one hour early to our reservation and staff were extremely accommodating. They managed to seat us quickly and service was spot on. We had 2 courses included in our spa day but didn’t want to over fill before our treatments, we explained that we would skip desert and our waitress Michelle organised for our desert to be added to our evening meal instead. The food at lunch time and the evening were both outstanding, we couldn’t fault it at all. 100% will be back.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleExcellent service , staff very friendly . Sunday dinner was lovely. And well worth the money. Got dessert, sticky toffee pudding and ice cream.... best ever
The Farmers Arms – DurhamGreat food , friendly helpful staff, great value for money.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamEnjoyed a lovely stay at the Morritt Hotel and ate in Gilroy’s restaurant each evening. There was a good choice on the menu and the steak and ale pie was a particular favourite. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I would certainly recommend this hotel if you are staying in the area.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleWas disappointed with the meal small portion, half a carrot, half a parsnip which was still hard, 2 x slices of meat which was charged as an extra 3 quid to the 2 courses offer, 2 roasties, a spoon full of cabbage and a yorkshire. The apple crumble was ok and helped filled us up. Wont be going again im afraid.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamBeef pie and chips to die for, whole meal was absolutely delicious and staff were amazing, so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you, especially the breakfast staff. Stayed overnight on a spa package and couldn’t fault any of it.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleFood was lovely. The staff who were there were helpful however, the wait time at the bar was ridiculous. Lots of staff but doing other things needed to run a hotel but not enough in the bar area to serve drinks. A couple beside me waited 10 minutes on their arrival, I’d of walked out. Not the guys fault who was serving me.. he was by himself. Always has been like that as I live in the are and have been quite a few times.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamGreat food today at lunchtime . Good value for money with swift polite service. Thank you.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamI enjoyed the meal and I was surprised on the quality of of the food. I understand that there were short staffed but it didn't affect my experience which I enjoyed and would certainly recommend to others.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamVery poor service from staff bar area had horrible smell. Food was tiny portions and tables were tiny couldn’t fit plates and drinks on without them being knocked
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWe had dinner at Prego as part of a stay at Derwent Manor. The food was outstanding and the place is beautiful. The staff were very attentive and service minded. We can definitely recommend it.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamThe service, atmosphere and food at the Prego were brilliant. My wife and I haven't had such delicious food in ages, from the starters, to the mains, and finishing up with a superb cheesecake. We were really blessed. I highly recommend the Prego.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamLocation - beautiful spot, just off the A66. Amazing views, scenery & farm animals in sight. Very secluded and comfortable. The hotel itself was beautiful, our room was gorgeous, nice and clean & spacious no complaints! The spa was to die for, generally one of the best spa and facilities I’ve ever experienced. What you get for the money is out of this world. The food was great, full of flavours however would of expected more. Wasn’t full from the tapas, but was beautifully cooked & presented. Staff were OUTSTANDING. Especially Shannon and Michelle. Great customer service, fantastic attention to detail, very attentive. Would go back without a doubt. Amazing place
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleMe and my husband brought his dad and aunt here on father's day one of the restaurants busiest days. The manager had a few younger members of staff on who wasn't too sure on what they are doing working in the trade myself I didn't hold it against them as they need to learn, the manager was a gem he put right what was wrong and we left very happy my husband and aunt had the carbonara and pizza was good food at a good price and I had chicken schnitzel type of burger was so good the sweet potato fries were great the garlic bread was amazing and my father in law had a burger also and he couldn't finish it we recommend this place every time we come up to Durham we stop and have a meal here really is a little gem so glad we found it
