We had a fantastic meal. Tapas was delicious and authentic, very good value. Yummy churros for pudding. Service was great. We will definitely return.

We visited The Farmers Arms yesterday for Sunday lunch. This was our first visit and it certainly won’t be the last. Both the food & service was outstanding. The staff were very accommodating with our young daughter which is an added bonus. We have passed many times and followed on Facebook for a short time too, we took the opportunity to visit while we could and we were not disappointed. We will be back for Sunday lunch and to try the main menu too!

Had a lovely 2 course lunch as part of a spa package deal to celebrate my sisters birthday. I cannot recommend both the hotel restaurant and spa highly enough. Both the staff and food were first class. My sister had a fabulous birthday thanks to the staff, facilities and good food. We both cannot wait to bring our families for a meal/Sunday lunch in the future.

Food was okay, clearly the food was reheated Bread was stale The salad leaves were sticky and browned

We had a lovely stay at Marriott hotel , the staff were very friendly , room was well decorated and cosy. The location is beautiful with plenty to do near by . However our dining experience was not at all good . The starter was inedible and I told the staff but got no response from the kitchen . Main meal not much better and desert was also inedible . A bought desert which only tasted of gelatine . We were very disappointed and would probably not return because of this . I’m not usually one to complain but feel in this case it was justified . Breakfast was however very good and breakfast service excellent . We look forward to your reply . Regards John and Yvonne Whitehead

Food was really good and unbelievably priced. Service was a bit slap-dash both starter three of the party had to wait a good five minutes for the last plate to be served. My partner asked for vinegar and the waitress brought it over and almost threw the two sachets into the middle of the table

Loved the open kitchen, the decor & buzz about the dining room. Delicious food and wine. A super experience. Thank you to everyone who made our evening so enjoyable.

We are at Prego last night as part of a hotel booking and we were so impressed with the food. Everything we have is cooked to perfection, so tasty and plentiful. We both had steaks which were absolutely devine

Unbelievable value for money , 3 course meal for £10 and light refreshments and coffee latte for 2 for £30 it is the first time visiting the restaurant , certainly be returning generous portions , ample time between courses , Par Excellence Service by Dan with very attentive customer focus and service also a great shout out for both Ches Mal & Mauro

Sunday lunch , food fine had the carvery by service again very poor. When we arrived table not ready and it took more than 10 minutes to lay the table when the restaurant was almost empty. There seems to be an awful lot of staff with no direction, it was not busy and yet still had to call over a member of staff to take our order then we just got up ourselves and went to carvery nobody asked if we wanted starter.

I have been umming and arring all week about whether I should post my review after my families visit on Wednesday, but I have decided that it is in the interest of any allergy sufferers that I do, and that I hope it is used as a tool for the restaurant to further train their staff around allergies. So, we are not local, we visited from a recommendation a few months ago with family and we’re amazed by the service, food quality, price and overall atmosphere. The bar man was a delight. He was knowledgable and willing to check anything for us. I think he may have owned it. He had a son that was quite local to us for University (Hull/Grimsby) we were so amazed we chose to revisit. This time when I informed the bar man of our allergies, he wasn’t as enthusiastic. He seemed to have some knowledge of food allergies and the content of food but was very blahzay and sarcastic about mine and my daughters dairy allergy (Not Lactose intolerance- an actual, serious allergy) I asked multiple times for things to be checked, such as the mayonnaise and certain dishes. At one point he walked off and rolled his eyes at me, and did not feed back. Then when it came to dessert they didn’t have any crumble ready as the apples were still stewing. I asked if they had vegan ice cream like before for my daughter. And he said he would check. He came back with the ice cream for me and my daughter, I tasted a little amount and asked him if he could find out what brand it was (I claimed it was delicious but on tasting it I was concerned about allergies due to the texture being unlike usual vegan ice cream and didn’t want to ask again if it was safe for us to eat as it was clearly irritating him and I risked not getting a response). He came back a few minutes later and took the bowls away, no apology, just “switching these, there was a mix up” that was all he said and there was no refund, apology or appropriate response for realistically poisoning myself and my daughter through pure ignorance and lack of a duty of care. What made it more infuriating is that we had been seated on the table next to the sign about allergies and intolerances. When we left very upset and without an apology. I’ve now lost faith in my safety eating here, which is a huge shame as the food is so very beautiful and we love to support independent businesses. We were both very poorly for a few days and although the main symptoms have settled, we will still be dealing with some of the consequences of this for weeks, although on a lesser scale and more manageable. We are lucky that we are not anaphylactic and did not go into shock In the restaurant. But we had made the server well aware of the severity of our allergies, and even joked about not wanting to have a reaction at the table- he joked that he wasn’t on social media so wouldn’t be bothered if he was ‘bad mouthed’. I think the joke has gone sour now. So, in short, if you have no allergies you should definitely eat here. The food is beautiful. If you have allergies, I hope you have the man we had the first time around serving you… and I hope he teaches the other man his customer service skills.

This was my first visit to The Derwent Manor and I was not disappointed. We ate in The Antler Bar - food was lovely and the service was excellent from the waiting staff to the bar staff. They were all very friendly and polite. As it was my 1st visit we had a look around. We visited Preggo and the reception area. Again the staff were approachable and friendly. Can’t wait to visit again!

Food nice but served cold and lunch offer of 3 tapas dishes for a reduced price was not honoured

We stayed at derwent manor hotel on a recent visit to bemish museum. Food in both the bar and restaurant were excellent service was excellent can't fault it in any way big thankyou to everyone at derwent manor hotel Regard phil mayoh

Met friends for lunch here. Great atmosphere and food was delicious. Very reasonably priced and lovely staff. I'll definately go back.

Food was fantastic when it eventually came, but we didn't mind as we knew it was a Saturday night. The service could have been better; no one checked we needed drinks even after turning the empty bottle of prosecco upside down. Staff were attentive if you got their attention but there was no ownership from staff to actually check back unless we got their attention first. Probably could have made more money off us if they'd asked if we needed any more drinks, we only had one round the 3 hours we were there because there was no check back. Also as a polite criticism, please make sure you aren't leaving children's meals sat under the hot plate - our two year old was given a plate so hot it burned one of the adults at the table. We had to ask for another plate that wasn't ludicrously hot.
