Excellent food. Terrible customer service. The staff need training on the bar menu, as they do not know the difference between the basics of lager and bitter. 4 people checked our drinks order, and still managed to get it wrong, after we had waited 45 minutes for the drinks we were not impressed. We went for a Sunday carvery. It was not busy, and plenty of staff on duty.

Absolutely fabulous meal. We had a 3 course meal but having been before knew we couldn’t manage the sweet which was boxed up for us to take home. Wide range of all 3 courses and large portions. Fantastic value for money and the pub is well run, including the chef serving on table. A refreshing change to some pubs. Definitely recommend and book so as not to be disappointed

A mixed review. The food we had was lovely however there was one young girl run off her feet because it was understaffed. She was apologising to customers constantly and to make it even worse the chef roared service from the kitchen causing all guests to fall silent. Noone should be spoken to the way that chef spoke. I did email the restaurant but sadly no reply which again is not good for customer service. We left the restaurant without ordering desserts as we didn't want to add any more stress and we felt sorry the the waitress and let down by the whole eating experience which is very disappointing.

Bitterly disappointed with the quality of the meal, my wife sea Bass seemed like a large piece of cod swimming in butter with a very small amount of samphire on top. My Cajun chicken and chips were ok but I have never tasted triple cooked chips with no flavour before. However the puddings to finish were very good. The service was attentive and friendly.

I recently stayed at Derwent Manor Hotel with my husband for our anniversary. We booked a package deal which included £25pp meal allowance in the restaurant. The menu looked amazing, my husband started with monkfish which was absolutely delicious. I had cod for main and my husband had lamb - both cooked perfectly. We had chocolate brownie for dessert, it was honestly one of the best brownies we have ever had. Thoroughly impressed with our meal. The servers were all attentive and polite and the restaurant was beautifully decorated and presented, we will definitely be returning!

We have ate here before we last booked in a stay at Derwent manor. However this time we where very disappointed with the meal and quality of the food. The staff you could have no complaint about they where very good.

We ate here last night for husbands birthday. Staff were friendly and attentive. It was quiet for a Friday night but it is holiday time. The food service was well executed and timely. The food was good and well cooked. Presentation was not the best but that excused it was good. The menu is sufficient but could be simplified, as once the bill came it was tedious to work out the correct charges. Too many supplements and extras. We felt it would be easier to just provide a 4 choice starter main and pud special then price the menu as normal for clarity. A very enjoyable evening. We will return thank you !!

We enjoyed afternoon tea after a visit to the spa. I'd requested vegetarian but we received meat sandwiches, but the young lady service was very apologetic and went and asked the chef to make up some vegetarian sandwiches. Everyone in the restaurant then heard the chef screaming for service at the poor girl who was alone running the busy restaurant. The Manager did not appear until another customer requested to speak to them, and she swiftly disappeared again after. The food was delicious and I can't fault it, but the chefs screaming was embarrassing and the managers lack of presence or acknowledgement of the poor lone staff member was shameful.

We’ve not been to the Morritt under the new management which is a while. We attended for Afternoon tea and it was lovely to see the China still being used however the overall afternoon tea wasn’t brilliant. The sandwiches were soggy and you could tell they’d been in the fridge for a while, the sausage roll was nice, the other desserts were nice enough but overall it was quite boring. We weren’t told what was what although the sandwiches were self explanatory as they were egg, tuna and cheese & ham. The restaurant itself looks like it needs a lick of paint and appeared tired. Service was ok, appeared to only have 1 waitress for the restaurant and it was busy. If you’re looking for a traditional afternoon tea this isn’t the place to go!
